Restaurant murder: Kitchen hand charged

A CHINESE national, who allegedly stabbed his supervisor at a Raffles City restaurant, was yesterday charged with murder - which carries a mandatory death sentence.

No plea was taken from Wang Zhenjun, 43, who has been working as a kitchen assistant at The Soup Spoon for the past six months.

Wang showed no emotion when the charge was read out to him in Mandarin. He is accused of murdering Mr Tan Guanhua, 25, in the outlet's kitchen between 6.45pm and 7pm on Saturday after a work-related dispute.

Mr Tan, a Singaporean who had been working at The Soup Spoon for last three years, died soon after he was stabbed.

Wang was remanded at the lock-up in Cantonment Complex for a week. The case will be mentioned next Monday.

Kitchen assistant charged with murder at Raffles City Shopping Centre

SINGAPORE : The man allegedly responsible for the murder of a restaurant supervisor at Raffles City Shopping Centre on Saturday has been charged in court.

43-year-old kitchen assistant Wang Zhe Jin, a Chinese national, is now under police custody and his case will be mentioned in court next week.

Wang is said to have murdered his restaurant supervisor, 25-year-old Tan Guan Wha.

Tan died from a stab wound to the chest.

Tan's body was brought back to his Marsilling home on Monday afternoon.

Chinese national "not terribly frightened" after cabby's death

SINGAPORE: A Chinese national on trial for the murder of a taxi driver, told the High Court on Wednesday he was "not terribly frightened" when he tried to remove evidence after allegedly killing the man.

Wang Wenfeng, 32, had originally claimed that he was very frightened after the alleged murder of taxi driver Yuen Swee Hong, 58, in April 2009 following a botched robbery attempt.

Wang then allegedly dumped the body on a hill.

When questioning Wang, Deputy Public Prosecutor Eugene Lee noted that Wang, despite being frightened, was still able to wipe off blood from the taxi and even snipped off wires from a card reader to avoid being detected.

Wang said he was "not terribly frightened".

He had wanted to look for the taxi's Global Positioning System (GPS) machine but mistook the card reader for it.

He later demanded S$150,000 from Mr Yuen's wife as ransom.

DPP Lee asked Wang about his intention for bringing a knife out that day.

In response, Wang said: "To commit robbery, you have to bring a knife… don't tell me you want me to bring a banana?"

If I recall correctly, the murderer only got a few years jail, because it was ruled that he was provoked as well.
This was also the case where the murderer shouted that "We chinamen are not to be bullied" after the deed.

I remember this case was about spoons. CCB ah tiong kuai lan with the deceased by claiming that the machine dishwasher was full and refused to wash some spoons manually. If you are his boss, you will also eff him upside down. I think Besotted is the exception.

He Lives In The Jungle

He's the beast of the jungle. It's difficult to comprehend why he acted that way. No two men are born alike ? Hard to tell. Even domestic animals like dogs or parrots do not exhibit the same kind of temperament or intelligence.

The way of the jungle has mold him into a fighter unlike our confucius and civilised way of living has taken away our ability to detect danger and to be bold enough to fend for our territory. Such is the loser's way ? The law is the way of the civilised. But, that is useless against the Mongol and the Japanese invaders. So, should one be fully civilised ? Are we civilised in the first place ? If that is so, then why do we have a PAP problem to get rid of ?

Well in this case, it was a civilian action but hey who cares. A life is lost for a very minor
argument.

A law must be just. If you take $1 away (stolen), then you may end up paying the victim back from $2 to ten. If a bull gored another, the 'murderous' bull will be executed and payment will be made to the owner of the 'murdered' bull. This is justice in the eyes of God. What about 'our' 'justice' department ?
