Posted: Fri Aug 05, 2011 4:46 pm Post subject: Transport hikes increased by 10% By using cash, fare has been increased by 10 cent. Which mean now the minimum fare to take a bus is $1.10 instead of $1.00. This is consider 10% increase. By using ezlink card, from 0.71cent, now has been increase to 0.73 cent (2 cent increase). If you go and calculate this 2 cent increase, it is actually 2.8% increase which is the maximum increase that SMRT and SBS is asking. Please go and do the calculation urself and you will see the hard truth Dun understand why increased by so much in percentage and i tot Gerred E should review the ministers pay first mah,it comes before the transport hikes right??? <TBODY> </TBODY>

Monopoly transport services instead of for public service.
Lousy service and no improvements and yet dumb PTC Gerald Ee and transport minister can jolly justify for fare increases without batting an eyelid.

Indeed thanks to the 60% whom still want to be conned forever.

Increasing the fare yearly is not the solution for both the commuters and the transport providers.
The Transport Minister must come out with a policy on public transport.
Leaving the companies to fend for themselves is not long term way to go.
Government must invest in asset renewal.
