She does qualify to stand. She however broke the rule imposed by the civil service that require civil servants not be affliated to a political party. The PAP however has ignored the rule and we have many civil servants who are serving the PAP cause especially teachers. As she has tendered her resignationI am sure she can't be bothered anyway.

It should be noted that the Govt changed the stat board rules to allow Sylvia Lim to contest as WP candidate during the last GE in 2006. Sylvia made it clear that she will contest no matter what the rule states and the Govt immediately had to act.
