FREQUENT breakdowns coupled with faulty display boards and toll gates at the Bukit Panjang LRT have commuters seeing red.

Stomp user Priscilla wrote in to complain about commuters having to put up with the many problems that plague the LRT station.

Less than a month ago (Nov 30), commuters were forced to walk on train tracks due to a power failure at the LRT station.

More action is needed to rectify these problems, said the user.

She told Stomp: "There have been regular breakdowns of the Bukit Panjang LRT in the past few months.

"The electronic boards are not displaying the right information. Sometimes, they don't display anything.

"Every now and then, the toll gates don't work.

"Wrong PA announcement of locations are made and the LRT cars are not air-conditioned.

"For example last evening, there was no air-conditioning.

"This is extremely unhealthy as it got so stuffy.

"We have been putting up with all these and I wonder whether the authorities are thinking that since it's cheap travel, commuters deserve a sub-standard LRT system?"
