And the passionate casino uncles and aunties will organise to get you to shut up. You just hate casinos and want to find excuses to kill it.

No lah. They cannot even get their act together to organise a facebook/petition to present their case to the Minister.

My toes are laughing. You think the Minister is going to listen to a bunch of Facebook goods, half of whom probably cannot vote, the other half are anti-PAP anyway, as compared to these uncles and aunties who translate into real votes?

And don't underestimate the power of the casinos. Before you can say "Picture" you might find a thousand angry uncles and aunties being arriving outside your office in RWS buses (they are not going to the casino after all).

How about a bet then?

If the PAP hold firm and made no changes to the current levy system for the next 5 years, you win.

If the PAP changes the levy system within the next 5 years, I win.

What do you get if you win? What does he get if he wins?
Make it interesting.

On the balance, I think that casino is actually vote-winning, even with the levy system. It'd win even more votes for PAP if the levy is abolished, but PAP doesn't need to do it now. With a sure-win situation, why give discount? Opposition should forget about it, stay away from this issue, but keep a look-out, just in case of some sensational incidents arising therefrom for some hit-and-run political point-scoring opportunities. Just as in KL, after dust of the novelty and curiosity settled, the ones who go up Genting all day and all night long are the ones who, 1. they can afford it whole life long, affecting nobody else, or 2. decent folks are glad are that these gambling addicts have somewhere to go to. Till suicide doth gambling stoppeth or not is their biz, their widows and orphans are their biz.

I am hoping Minister Balakrishnan will do the right thing. He has all the numbers and he knows what must be done.

If he doesn't do the right thing, then I hope to use the political process to get him to do the right thing.

Any lives lost, people made homeless in the interim is soley on his hands.

You NCC or CHC?
