STOMPer vogue is disappointed that crowd favourite, Annabel Tan, only emerged as the first runner-up in the Miss Singapore Universe 2010 finals despite being the prettiest, smartest and most personable contestant.
The 25-year-old beauty, who had the most support from the public and critics, lost the crown to 22-year-old accounts executive Tania Lim, in the pageant finals held last Friday.
Her fans were clearly dismayed by the results as they felt that Annabel was the more deserving contestant.
Recent New Paper reports of the new Miss Singapore Universe being labelled as a 'sarong party girl' by netizens, after pictures of her posing with Caucasian men surfaced online, has further fuelled the Annabel Tan versus Tania Lim controversy.
STOMPer vogue says:
"Annabel Tan clearly stood out right from the beginning.
"She is beautiful and answered questions with such wit and humour while the rest of the contestants just spewed out boring, 'pageant-friendly' answers.
"Annabel also has the whole package and has a squeaky clean image.
"She has done volunteer and missionary work in Third World countries.
"Tania Lim's 'sarong party girl' image is now making everyone wonder whether the Miss Singapore Universe judges made a grave mistake."
