Excrement hurled at Thai PM's residence
An indentified man threw a bag of excrement passed a security cordon to hit the fence of the Thai Prime Minister's residence on Sukhumvit 31 Road, Bangkok, police said on Tuesday.
Police detain a Nakhon Panom man on Tuesday after throwing a bag of cow feces into Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's residence.
Police identified the man as Kamphong Samart, 56, a native of northeastern province of Nakhon Phnom.
Police quoted Kampong as saying that his action was done from resentment for what he considered as injustices.
He said he came to Bangkok by bus, arrived at the Mor Chit bus terminal and caught a taxi to the prime minister's home in Soi Sawasdee on Sukhumvit area.
The bag the suspect threw was found stuck to the fence.
The attack was the second after a man threw a bag of human excrement and fermented fish into the Prime Minister's residence last month.
The incident took place despite the presence of the reinforcement of security personnel deployed after the last month's attack.
The premier was still at home but left five minutes later for Government House.
Police said Kamphong has been charged with defacing property and causing public embarrassment to others.
