Geylang has blossomed ever since he took over Aljunied GRC. Last time, there were only Malaysian and Thai girls. In response to market demand, he has implemented reforms so that cheongsters can "enjoy" China mei mei's for as little as $100.

In the respect, perhaps Jack Neo is the right person to put in as an MP for Aljunied GRC. As a cheongster, he would know how to develop Geylang even further.
On the other hand, if we had put Goh Meng Seng in charge, Geylang probably would have closed shop by now since he would have hounded the PAP non-stop about the vice activites there.

Actually Jack Neo's case is not really a phenomenon and yet there is a sudden strong media coverage over the issue. Further to that, his wife is "cool" enough to manage the situation. Churches are involved to solve the issue and MPs speaks on his behalf?

I know of opposition members (and PAP members too of course) who patronise the lanes of ill repute in Geylang. Whether opposition or PAP, Geylang is staying safe and sound as it is. It's got its own political support (or at least a good level of tolerance) from both sides.

As a woman, Slyvia Lim is the perfect person to turn the latest developments in Geylang into a burning election issue. While there is potential hidden political support to for Geylang, it would be political suicide for Geroge Yeo and team to openly take a position that supports prostituition.
