National Service Causing Singaporean Males To Develop Crutch Mentality

Many Singaporean males have the retarded mentality that just because they serve 2 years of National Service in some Holiday Chalet, everyone must kowtow to them.

Singaporean males who could not get entry into local Universities due to their inferior results have the cheek to demand the Unis to lower their standards and admit these sub-standard students. Singapore Unis would be no better than those third-rate Malaysian Unis if this were to be allowed.

Singaporean males who could not get the jobs they desire due to their lack of skills and expererience again feel that they are entitled to those jobs just because they happened to serve NS.

Gimme a break. You guys should stop being so whiny and start to earn your way through life than to use NS as an excuse.

it is the other way round. Those who are failures in NS succeed spectacularly after NS. The scientific basis for this phenomenon is that mavericks are rewarded in life just as lthomos edision who never fit in but whose legacy still lives on in the world largest company.

There must be a distinction between the short term suppression of mavericks who will eventually succeed anyway and the long term killing of Sg by NS in influencing the flows of mavericks genes in the wrong direction out of Sg.

Everyone does kowtow to the man with the rifle. Only an idiot will not realise that defence is the most important pillar for most countries, and probably sg too.

NSmen have been marginalised in the job market, passed over for promotions and sidelined in their careers due to their NS reservist obligations. This is on top of the 2 years plus they have to sacrifice free of charge to the State.

All and sundry enjoy the benefits of stability but the NSmen have to bear the social and economic costs alone.

What a load of bullcrap. NS hsa become the bogeyman for every problem the Singaporean males faces. NS has transformed all SG males into whiny little girls.

NSmen have suffered job discriminations and as NS obligations are enforced through legal means, the State is, in effect, enforcing these discriminations when it turns a blind eye to this serious problem.

NSmen spend two years plus going through tough, battle realistic training risking injuries and sometimes their lives for military defence. After all these arduous training and personal sacrifices, what lies in store for them is discriminations for their having to go back for annual in camp trainings in order to augment S'pore's defence force.

NSmen end up as losers due to discriminatons by employers, who place self interest above national interest while the impotent govt watches idly by.

Are you stereotyping all the SG guys? Seems like it to me, how about you tell us who are the guys who happens to be whining about the lack of job opportunies. Personally i feel it takes a good grade to get into uni, for some money talks but im okay with it as all these are pre-destined. NS is a must for all abled-body guys and so theres not much point really to debate any further

SAFOS scholarship should be abolished

NS has caused the PAP govt to develop a crutch mentality to depend on male citizens to provide two years plus of free labour to the State, without compensating NSmen fairly for their sweat and blood.
