Breaking News - According to the representing lawyers for Amos Yee's bid for asylum in United States, he has been granted asylum by the US Court of Appeals.
He was earlier granted asylum by the United States in March this year on the grounds of persecution by the Singapore government but the US immigration filed an appeal against the judgement.

Base on the logic of personal freedom and democracy, Amos Yee has the total legal advantage of getting asylum in the expense of the PAP.

PAP has played into Amos's little game of allowing him to get a deserving green card.

What an intelligent and smart kid!!!!

Fantastic. SO, the US now confirms Zikapore is a dictatorship country, and its political dissidents are justifiably granted asylum. In other words, no democracy in singapore.

Two courts in the land of the free have now found the PAP's courts to be kangaroo courts?

"Two US immigration courts have now called a spade a spade. Pinky our dear leader was upset with Amos Yee for denigrating his father but did not have the balls to call him out and instead unleashed the full venom of the organs of State up his tender ass using the cover of religious sensitivity and the arsenal of the land's sedition laws.

This trick worked in Singapore quite effectively a...nd Amos was convicted but unfortunately the sham was laid thread bare in the United States in the asylum proceedings and appeal thereon.

A most damning indictment of the administration of justice in Singapore spelt out in technicolour detail in two separate judgments for the world to read to justify giving a young boy refuge from political persecution in his own country.

This is simply remarkable and unprecedented in the annals of legal history here save for the Privy Council tearing into the then Chief Justice Wee Chong Jin's shambolic judgment against JBJ Jeyaratnam that was used to debar the politician.

That hurt no doubt as will this one. A stinging slap in the face for Singapore and the system here.

Therefore the second take away is that the judgement of the three-member United States Board of Immigration Appeals upholding an earlier ruling from a lower court judge unequivocally means that Amos Yee's persecution and imprisonment in Singapore was politically motivated to silence him. There are no two ways about this.

Shame on the PAP Government exposed for the world to see what it does to little boys that annoy them."

I feel happy for Amos. All power to him.

For all that has been said about his political immaturity and megalomaniacal tendency to mouth off without appreciating the consequences, we forget he's still a kid, and a very talented, precocious one at that. And anyone with half a brain knows that his run-ins with the law here had nothing to do with offending religious sensitivities, which was merely an ostensible cover for one gay bitch's vindictive reprisals avenging insults hurled at his father.

To be sure, it will be a steep learning curve for Amos, even in the US, coming to grips with balancing freedom of speech with responsibility. He'll trip up now and then, stumbling as he forges his path, but he'll only be the better and stronger for it. Age is on his side.

More importantly, this whole saga throws a scathing searchlight on our courts' lack of independence and shows it up to be a pliant tool of the govt for silencing political dissent.

Another dark blot on the PAP's already tarnished image as an authoritarian govt that is becoming increasingly more illiberal and repressive.

Very well said. A pity that those who have been brainwashed by pap over the years including gossipy former and current civil servants and impressionable and easily manipulated sinkies just don't get it.

All Good for this boy.

Hope he take positive steps and groom by someone to be one of US politicians and rise up the rank and file.

If he become one of the prominent MPs in US he can walk into Singapore w PAP roll out red carpet for him.

Tan Wah Piow did not become a US politican and wasted his chance to tekkan Pap.

Lets hope this boy turn to menhood make full use of his talent to rise up to be US politician one day.

He needs to be groom and taught well.

God bless Amos.
