fighters in this type of legit promotional matches are required to sign waivers in case of injuries or death. nothing illegal about it. headgears are optional in such fights, not mandated like in the olympics. they go into the ring with eyes wide open and papers signed.

Tell me what aspect of the fight did not meet regulations?

The body builder does not seem to be fit enough for the fight. Was a proper medical done? Was the body builder given a briefing on the risks etc? N how can a body builder go into boxing? Was he a trained boxer? And is there a licensed required to be a boxer?

I think Narong is probably right. He must have an underlying condition or like many bodybuilders the use of steroids having an effect. The autopsy also said that its a heart condition. They just waiting for toxicology report for the final report.

Agree with Froggy, Steven Lim was no chicken, though unfit and struggling to breathe gave it all. He also took a lot of punches. Kudos to the guy.

Heart attack lah. Could be purely coincidence.

No different from some of those super fit marathon runners or triathlon competitors die of heart attack also.

Heart attack can happen anytime.

What was clearly lacking was the medical support at the event from what I see. No doctor or trained medical personnel there when he collapsed.

Yup, pretty common for layman to die of heart attack in a fight or any other strenuous sports for that matter. The bottomline is these people were not adequately conditioned for the fights.

Rubbish it's just a case of misadventure. Nobody dies from a boxing match unless they already had an underlying condition that neither the victim nor anyone else knew about.

Facebook comments you can see lots of Indians calling Steven Lim a "Murderer". Whenever an Indian died in public, there will be a big hoo haa because their indian race cards and victim cards and finger pointing blame games automatically start.

Remember the recent missing recreational diver in komodo island? The indian adult woman signed an indemnity form to participate in a high risk scuba diving activity and did not resurface. Her Indian family blamed the MFA for not helping when the Indonesians had already covered thousands of km of sea search & rescue effort. They demanded air search by military helicopter but that is not a SOP hence turned down by both countries. Somehow an indian family of doctors and lawyers are too stingy to pay $50k for a private helicopter so much they need to complain to the news media, cry, beg and crowdfund for one.

Now another Indian adult man signed an indemnity form to participate in a high risk Muay Thai Kickboxing match and he unfortunately died of cardiac arrest. I can 100% guarantee you once the wake is over, the Indian family will play the race card victim card and point their finger and blame everyone from top to bottom from sports authorities to event organizers to ring medical team to steven lim for the death. The Indian family will engage fellow Indian lawyers to exploit any legal loopholes and use their forked tongues to argue their way up to the highest supreme court to sue the hell out of everyone. Steven Lim you better be prepared, the game is not over, the real indian snakes are yet to come.

If Media Corp needs a talent to portray Ip Man, Steven Lim has it all to take on this role.
