A few years ago when he was taking care of MOM, there were some industrial accidents. In a knee-jerk reaction, he instructed his jia-liao-bee (i will explain why later) factory safety officers to raid all the registered factories in Singapore. Then china bus drivers started to stir shit at SMRT, the general feared them as a community thereafter. He instructed his mediators for labour disputes to side the rouge workers and many SMEs were forced to make leeways to the tiong workers who made untrue claims such as unpaid wages or ill-treatments. Chink workers get to write a satisfaction survey as a secondary safety net, if the mediators could not get them satisfactory compensations. The mediators took short up and forced the employers concerned to give in, or risk losing their rights to hire foreign workers. Stories surfaced on china portals teaching chink workers who fulfilled almost fulfilled their employment contracts to blackmail their employers before they retire back home.

Lastly the F&B industry got even more tulan when he allowed the famous china hotpot restaurant unlimited foreign-worker levy so that he considers Singapore residency.

It's all relative. No matter what during his time in government he has to accept responsibility for his participation and allowing oppression to continue.

Compare him to VB, Shan, Teo etc you can tell who enjoys it and who does not.

I was refering to quota, not levy, sorry about the mistake.

There is no fairness in his system. Imagine you are struggling business owner in F&B or an aspiring young hawker, troubled by staffing issues, and here you are,
having a MOM minister who allowed a China competitor in, almost unlimited foreign-worker quota to compete against you.
