In addition to his contributions as a politician, Mr Tan is also currently serving as the president of the Singapore National Olympic Council.
At the recently concluded SEA Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, the minister was seen at various events such as shooting, synchronised swimming and gymnastics cheering the athletes on.
In a poignant post on Facebook, recapping the sporting event, Mr Tan highlighted the sacrifices and challenges the Singaporean athletes faced - and overcame - to make it the country’s best away showing at the SEA Games.
He wrote: “The 15 Games records, 13 national records and 29 personal bests at the 29th SEA Games may or may not have come with medals. But it really means something special.
“It takes a nation to cheer on our athletes. When our athletes compete, they are our gladiators. Their performances and stories fill us with pride not just when they win, but also when we see how they fought.”

Chey ! Ah Tan go KL to show face , look see look see and take pictures nah ; no one gave a hoot who he was as he was dressed casually.

At one point I actually mistaken him for Chris Chan; almost the same look. Now as the Speaker of Parliament; he is really muzzled. Seriously what has he done all this years.
Does TCJ mean to say that being seen at various events in the SEA Games like shooting, gymnastics, etc. is contributing to Singapore sports? Lancheow lah, isn't that part of his jiakliaobee job? I mean if Joe Schooling later on in life becomes the President of the SNOC, then you can say he has contributed to Singapore sports, but TCJ? WTF?

Yeah, the toilet cleaner at the stadium also contributed to Sports by their definition. Sometimes, I feel sorry for all these PAP Shit Times writer, they have to make a purse out of a sow's ear. the embellishing is incredible due to the fact that the substance is not there.

Fisherman of Christ Church. Non-denominational, evangelical and fundamentalist. These are worse than the prosperity gospel churches, being holier-than-thou and hypocritical in the extreme.

It's sacrilegious to even mention TCJ the Hypocrite in the same breath as these great Hebrew heroes.

A fairer comparison would be Peter, whom Jesus proclaimed as the rock on which he'd build his Church. And what did Peter do? Denied Christ three times before the cock crowed!

Well, at least Peter did build his Church, albeit a fallible one that led to centuries of wars, excesses and oppression. TCJ the Hypocrite will likely sidle anonymously into the political sunset while pasting reams of biblical verses on his FB page.

    Pathetic sod.

Maybe can compare TCJ to Noah. He was supposed to build an ark that can house 2 of each animal. But he failed to do so, as birth rates are still falling.
PM Lee Kuan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards. This is your life and mine. I’ve spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I’m in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.”

His contribution is not as a sportsman. His contribution is as a sportsfan.

Her contribution to Singapore Sports is that she sucked Schooling's lancheow on the flight home and help him join the mile high club.

Another to look out for: Ng chee meng, who calls himself a "committed" christian, not just a christian. contrast these jokers to chee soon juan..

A Christian who judges other Christians as not being committed to the Word of God.

This is defined in my King James dictionary.
