Anthony Scaramucci's expletive laden rant about Trump team colleagues in full and uncensored

Caroline MortimerFriday 28 July 2017 08:51 BST
Warning: this article contains strong swearing and foul language, uttered during an on-the-record phone call by the White House Communications Director
The Independent US

The newly installed Communications Director of the White House, Anthony Scaramucci, has landed himself in hot water after an on-the-record rant to a New Yorker journalist in which he attacked Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and threatened to fire his entire communications team.

He was angry about a story which revealed Mr Trump had had dinner with Fox presenter Sean Hannity.

The comms chief said he had been installed to route out leaks from the Trump administration and called journalist Ryan Lizza to insist he reveal his sources – something Mr Lizza refused to do.

The extraordinary nature of the rant, coupled with Mr Scaramucci's seniority in the US government, has put editors in a difficult position over how to cover the developing public row at the heart of the White House. The Independent has chosen to publish Mr Scaramucci's words in full in this article so that readers can see for themselves the language Mr Trump's top advisers are using about each other.

Here is what he said in full (Warning: Bad language):

On leaks

“Who leaked that to you? What I’m going to do is, I will eliminate everyone in the comms team and we’ll start over.

“I ask these guys not to leak anything and they can’t help themselves.

“You’re an American citizen, this is a major catastrophe for the American country. So I’m asking you as an American patriot to give me a sense of who leaked it.”

“Is it an assistant to the President?

“OK, I’m going to fire every one of them, and then you haven’t protected anybody, so the entire place will be fired over the next two weeks.”

“I’ve asked people not to leak things for a period of time and give me a honeymoon period. They won’t do it.”

“They’ll all be fired by me.

“I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people I’ll fire tomorrow. I’ll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus—if you want to leak something—he’ll be asked to resign very shortly.”

“What I want to do is I want to fucking kill all the leakers and I want to get the President’s agenda on track so we can succeed for the American people,”

On Reince Priebus

“Reince is a fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.

“‘Oh, Bill Shine is coming in. Let me leak the fucking thing and see if I can cock-block these people the way I cock-blocked Scaramucci for six months.’

“He didn’t get the hint that I was reporting directly to the President.

“And I said to the President here are the four or five things that he will do to me.”

On leaks about his financial interests

Insisting that Mr Priebus’s leaked his financial disclosure form as he entered the White House, he called it a “felony”.

“I’ve called the F.B.I. and the Department of Justice.

“The swamp will not defeat him.

“They’re trying to resist me, but it’s not going to work. I’ve done nothing wrong on my financial disclosures, so they’re going to have to go fuck themselves.

The biggest names involved in the Trump-Russia investigation

“OK, the Mooch showed up a week ago.

“This is going to get cleaned up very shortly, OK? Because I nailed these guys.

“I’ve got digital fingerprints on everything they’ve done through the F.B.I. and the fucking Department of Justice.

Well, the felony, they’re gonna get prosecuted, probably, for the felony. The lie detector starts—”

On Chief of Staff Steve Bannon

“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock.

“I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fucking strength of the President. I’m here to serve the country.”

On Donald Trump’s involvement

“Well, he doesn’t know the extent of all that, he knows about some of that, but he’ll know about the rest of it first thing tomorrow morning when I see him.”

On how he will respond

“Yeah, let me go, though, because I’ve gotta start tweeting some shit to make this guy crazy.”

No one here supports Donald Trump more than I, but I'm sad to report that Trump's White House is falling apart.

Last week, Press Secretary Sean Spicer resigned and very soon we'll see Chief of Staff Reince Priebus & Chief Strategist Steve Bennan taking the same route.

Trump's biggest mistake is for going hostile on his AG, a conservative Republican Jeff Session who was his earliest and staunch supporter in his campaign for the White House.

If he carries out his threat to sack AG Jeff Session, he'll definitely face a full revolt from the Republican Conservatives.

Dow Jones, S & P and Nasdaq are at their record high because the market is waiting for Trump's tax cuts, but it may never come about because I think he will soon be impeached by Special Counsel Robert Muller.

Donald J Trump is an embarrassment to America and is not fit to be the POTUS!

Chun chun Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has resigned last night.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is so demoralised by Trump's erratic behaviour, he has taken a vacation to go fishing amid reports that he's considering leaving the State Department.

Nope. Reince Priebus who was the chief of staff is the next one leaving. He is being replaced by John Kelly.

Trump has only been prez for 6+ months & he's created plenty of drama throwing plenty of people under the bus

* Sec. of State Tillerson 'taking a little time off' but not resigning

Amid reports claiming Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is resigning, his office confirms he's just taking a break after a lot of recent traveling. USA TODAY

Rex Tillerson has no plans to resign as Secretary of State and is "just taking a little time off," State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said Tuesday amid reports Tillerson was considering stepping down.

CNN reported over the weekend that a potential "Rexit" at Foggy Bottom was brewing and that Tillerson might resign before the end of the year. The report pointed to the former ExxonMobil CEO's growing frustration with the administration, which was exacerbated by President Trump's public attacks on Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

"The secretary has been very clear he intends to stay here at the State Department" Nauert told reporters when asked about the resignation rumors, according to The Hill. "We have a lot of work that is left to be done ahead of us. He recognizes that. He is deeply engaged in that work."

Nauert said Tillerson is "just taking a little time off" after returning from a "mega trip" at the beginning of the month that included stops in Germany, Ukraine, Turkey, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

"He's entitled to take a few days himself," Nauert said.

CNN said Tillerson told "friends outside of Washington" that he intended to remain at the State Department at least through the end of the year, but the network also cited two anonymous sources who said they thought he might leave sooner than that.

Those sources added that Tillerson "could have been venting after a tough week."

Tillerson's senior aide RC Hammond denied the report in a Buzzfeed News story published Monday.

"As long as there are rogue regimes pursuing nuclear weapons or terrorists seeking safe haven the secretary will remain on the job," Hammond said.

There has been tension between Tillerson and the Trump administration over issues ranging from Iran policy to State Department personnel, according to several media reports. In June, the secretary of State unloaded on White House aide Johnny DeStefano over staffing issues.

"Well, it is a lot different than being C.E.O. of Exxon because I was the ultimate decision maker," Tillerson told Tillerson told The New York Times earlier this month about his role as chief diplomat. "That always makes life easier."

Some reporters speculated that Trump's politicized address at the Boy Scout Jamboree could have further alienated Tillerson, a Distinguished Eagle Scout and former national president of the Boy Scouts of America.

White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci 'forced out by John Kelly'
Alexandra Wilts New YorkMonday 31 July 2017 21:35 BST

Anthony Scaramucci has been removed as White House communications director, less than two weeks after he was hired by Donald Trump.

During his brief time working for the President, Mr Scaramucci turned the White House upside down. His hiring led to the departures of both Sean Spicer and Reince Priebus, Mr Trump's former press secretary and Chief of Staff, respectively.

John Kelly, who was sworn in as White House Chief of Staff on Monday, reportedly asked the President to remove Mr Scaramucci as communications director, according to The New York Times.

In a statement announcing Mr Scaramucci would be leaving his role, the White House said he “felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team.”

According to ABC News, Mr Scaramucci offered his resignation to Mr Kelly with a request to be redeployed at the US's Export-Import Bank as chief strategy officer.

Mr Scaramucci's resignation comes after he told a New Yorker reporter last week that Mr Priebus was a “paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac” and accused him of leaking information to journalists. The following day, Mr Trump announced on Twitter that he was replacing Mr Priebus with Mr Kelly.

The controversial orders Donald Trump has already issued

Mr Scaramucci's tenure as Mr Trump's communications director may have been cursed from the start. When Mr Spicer resigned earlier this month, The New York Times reported that he told the President the appointment of the New York financier was a big mistake.

Mr Scaramucci was selected to replace Mike Dubke, who resigned from the job in May amid fallout from primarily Russia-related scandals.

During the transition, Mr Trump had intended to appoint Mr Scaramucci as director of his office of public liaison, but the offer was pulled at the request of Mr Priebus because of concerns about the financier’s overseas investments.

It is likely that the President selected Mr Scaramucci because of his demonstrated loyalty. The financier, who founded the global investment firm SkyBridge Capital and is a Fox News contributor, has on multiple occasions spiritedly defended the President on television. Mr Trump has constantly felt that his communications team was not doing enough to defend him.

During his first and last week on the job, Mr Scaramucci vowed to purge the White House staff of disloyal aides in an effort to crack down on leaks.

“You’re either going to stop leaking, or you’re going to get fired,” Mr Scaramucci said.

Anthony Scaramucci 'escorted' from White House after being removed from his job
Andrew Buncombe, David Usborne New YorkMonday 31 July 2017 21:33 BST

Anthony Scaramucci was reportedly escorted from the White House grounds within moments of confirmation that he had been removed by Donald Trump as Director of Communications.

As detailed by CBS News, the 53-year-old, who less than a week ago was threatening to fire everyone in the West Wing media department if he didn't get to the bottom of a rash of alleged leaks to the media, was walked from the White House complex and beyond its security perimeter.

It wasn't clear if that meant the immediate withdrawal also of his credentials to access the complex thereafter, even to collect whatever belongings he had accumulated in the ten days since first being appointed.

Scaramucci: Trump sinks 3-foot putts. Official transcript: Trump sinks 30-foot putts

The unceremonious removal of Mr Scaramucci from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue was a moment of exquisite humiliation that came in the wake of an astonishing display of hubris from a man who was brought into the White House to shake up its communications operations even though he arrived with zero experience in federal government.

Donald Trump's international Presidential trips

The over-confidence, if not outright arrogance, combined with sheer naiviete about how to interact with the press, was on most vivid display when Mr Scaramucci telephoned a New Yorker reporter, Ryan Lizza, a few days after his appointment to lash out at those he believed to be leakers in the White House, as well as at Reince Priebus, the former Chief of Staff, and Steve Bannon, the top advisor to President Trump.

He in particular conjured an especially vulgar and insulting image with respect to Mr Bannon. His tirade drew strong rebukes from several senior Republican figures on Capitol Hill.

Look at the brighter side. The more chaos / collapse resulting from over spending and disunity at the USA is only good for the rest of the world.

Trump has done only 3 things of note:

1. Slash taxes for the rich at the expense of the poor and working class: budget cuts for Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, foreign assistance, UN funding, spending on education, science & technology.

2. Increase military spending and weapons sales: good for the military-industrial complex, war for rest of the world.

3. Withdraw from the Paris accord at the behest of Big Oil: huge profits for Big Oil, global warming for the rest of the world.

In short, the much-vaunted American democracy has been subverted and corrupted by Big Biz (primarily Big Oil) to serve their agenda with Trump as their factotum. They've already infiltrated all levels of Congressional staff. US$80 mil from Big Oil alone (mainly the Koch brothers) went to Republican candidates in the 2016 elections.

Instead of representing public opinion, the Trump admin now defies public opinion, both at home and abroad.

You call this democracy? Greatness?

for those who have been riding on the dow bubble the first 6.9 months of trump's term and made "yuge" equity gains, huat ah! ride the golden goose while it's flying high and retire comfortably by cashing out before the next 6.9 months. for losers who don't have small change to play in the stock market you can wank yourself until the trump term ends.

The irony is that his voting base which continue to remain faithful is made of people who will lose out big time. Big business does not even sway the voting numbers.

The western press despite reporting his foibles would crucify a similar character who takes power in a 3rd world country and label it a banana republic.

I will continue to remain faithful too. Trump is one of the best things that has ever happened to politics. It is leading the world on a path where common sense and justice prevails.

The West has been out on a limb for far too long putting the rights of minority groups and retards in general ahead of the common man.

The Protestant work ethic will soon prevail once again and the world will be so much better off for it.

It seems ages ago, but in reality, it has only been a little over six months since Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office to Donald J. Trump. His first term is not even a year old, but he is on the third big change in his White House.

First President Trump hired Reince Priebus to be his chief of staff but began undermining Priebus' authority out of the gate. Virtually any member of the senior White House staff could bypass Priebus and go straight to the president. Many of them did. On more than one occasion, staff provided the president with online articles that were not true. They caused the president to go off on various tangents.

Then the president hired Anthony Scaramucci to shake up the communications team. That led to Sean Spicer's departure as press secretary and then Priebus' departure. Multiple press reports have noted the president, contrary to his reputation, really does not like to fire people. Instead, he prefers to make their lives miserable so they take a hint and quit. Scaramucci's role was to make Priebus' life difficult, and he excelled at that.

But Scaramucci overstepped his bounds with a ridiculous tirade to a reporter. That led to his departure as Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly moved in to the chief of staff's office, marking the third big change.

Kelly is a completely different creature than Priebus or Scaramucci. He is not a slick New Yorker behaving obnoxiously. Nor is he a party man loyally serving a president to benefit his party. Kelly was a Marine general. He respects the chain of command and, in large part, is a chain of command. He can instill fear and impose discipline. He is what President Trump needs.

No one should kid himself. Donald Trump is 71 years old. He is not going to give up old habits or bad habits. But he does have the potential to moderate them with direction from someone he respects. He clearly respects Gen. Kelly. No one should expect the president to give up his Twitter habit, but perhaps we can expect him not to cause himself so many self-inflicted wounds via Twitter. Perhaps we will no longer see him undermine the entire White House message of the day through a careless tweet.

To be sure, the president's Twitter habit can be a great asset. He can force the media to alter the news of the day via 140 characters on Twitter. He can shape the White House message and bypass major media outlets to reach millions of Americans. But, to quote Spider-Man's uncle Ben, with great power comes great responsibility. President Trump has used his Twitter powers recklessly and irresponsibly. Perhaps Kelly can focus the president on using Twitter to steer and push along a compelling White House message.
Kelly is imposing a chain of command that even the president's daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner understand they must adhere to. The general wants to vet information before it gets to the president. He wants to make sure it is true and make sure it is focused. He does not want a distracted president.

Many on the left and an increasing number of people in the center and on the right have already written off the Trump administration. More than one pundit has declared it over, some before it even began. They forget history. Every administration has a rocky start. Every president must develop sea legs as part of his on-the-job training. This president is no different. This presidency is extraordinarily unusual in American history, and we can be sure the mistakes made will be unique. But we should be careful writing off an administration because of our own views of the president.

We are six months into a four-year presidential term. Judges are being added to the judicial branch. Regulations are being promulgated. Decisions are being made. One writes off the Trump presidency at one's peril. Like it or not, Donald Trump is president and will be so tomorrow, the next day and the day after that -- and the year after next, as well.

The RAISE act by Trump is a great overhaul to the US immigration. For too long, illegals have come to US to try and claim welfare and legal status.

Now Trump demands high skilled migrants with a priority on those who can demonstrate competency in the English language.

Good times ahead for the US.

Looks like the noose is tightening on Trump. Robert Mueller is setting up a grand jury to further investigate the Trump team's links to Russia.
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...on-robert-mueller-washington-dc-a7876006.html

I bet that someone in the Trump family or Trump himself had dealings with the Russian Oligarchs.

Everyone seems to be fixated on this Russia crap. The fact remains that even if there was collusion it is not a crime and even if it was a crime Trump would still have to be removed by an impeachment process which would mean being found guilty by a whopping two thirds of the senate.

The likelihood of a two thirds majority ranges from zero to remote.

Bill Clinton committed the high crime of perjury, a crime which has sent lesser mortals to jail for a long time. However he was acquitted by the senate.

If the same process was enacted against Trump the result would be exactly the same.

The swamp is wasting its time and effort fighting Trump. It will get them nowhere. Their only hope is that he lasts only one term. He's 71 and overweight. Nature will probably take care of him long before the Dems deal him a telling blow.

It is quite common in this forum for people to spew all sorts of rubbish and pass judgement over matters they know next to nothing about. You are no exception.

I suggest you stop listening to the fake news networks and do your own research if you want to understand American politics.

I have not seen a US President panic like Trump. You can see that Mueller is having an effect. Even Nixon continued to be presidential until the very end.

The transcript of his call to the Mexican leader in his very first month about the wall was truly embarrassing. He was literally begging the guy to agree to please the press and voters. He was pleading. Act tough in public but spineless idiot behind the scenes.

Looks like 4 Star General Kelly has no hold as it is the first leak under him.
