Hahahahhahahah, u have explained alot. His post #3 actually was the one that started me on the path to whack him again. Claiming that the Singapore model for arms procurement is copied by other countries. Problem with that comment is that no one really knows what the Singapore model for weapons procurement is. There is no transparency in the procurement process, no independent oversight, and no clear stated objectives for the military. The entire military budget is shrouded in secrecy and has never been audited. In fact, the SAF will not even state who their enemy is and who they are buying weapons to defend against. Their purchases make no sense unless its buying for the sake of receiving bribes.

Yes, i think u are right in that speed of reply to me is his dominant goal. What a moron. Can't believe so many reputable posters here swallow his shit, hook line and sinker. Unless ...............of course, they are his own clones.

Took the 2 clowns nearly 20 posts between themselves for the penny to drop. Both continuously posting on things from French transparency laws to god knows what. It all there to see. Even had to throw in Animal Farm to ring some bells when nothing registered the first time around.

By the way, the Arms, pharma and charity NGOs sectors are some of the dirtiest you can find and the Germans and French are the leaders in this. Siemens was at one time barred from tendering in Singapore for a number of years for bribing.

sbf is a playground. no need to jump when a moron is playing seesaw with swing to gain attention. best is to prolong the idiocy and just give more rope to hang oneself. and then when time is ripe lol at post #69. no one wants to hang out with precocious kid in playground. too bad.

Agree. I am told that FA Act modelled after PAP's code of conduct for their MPs first introduced by GCT. In fact bribery went away like leprosy so genuinely shocked by the Germans bribing the Israelis. Thats one reason why I also always follow the SBF, the gems they revealed here by astute observers are amazing. Can't wait for the next revelation.

Ah dear chap you would have made more of an impact if your post had begun with expletives or exclaimed "Trebles all around!" or because you are a short man tried to explain along these terms:

"Unfortunately, although the answer was indeed clear, simple, and straightforward, there is some difficulty in justifiably assigning to it the fourth of the epithets you applied to the statement, inasmuch as the precise correlation between the information you communicated and the facts, insofar as they can be determined and demonstrated, is such as to cause epistemological problems, of sufficient magnitude as to lay upon the logical and semantic resources of the English language a heavier burden than they can reasonably be expected to bear"

That's the doctrine of the SAF. Notion of striking by the neighbours should never arise and that has been the situation all these years. The frequent joint exercise with the Indon and some recent ones is to gauge their senior military leaders line of thinking on this as they are tenured unlike politicians.

Haha, good one, Clearly you are head and shoulders above me. Not sure if our 2-man brains trust would be able to undo the knots after the first 5 words. One already has an affinity for bombastic phrasing akin to our SPG and the renown fake accent. Anymore and we talking about brain freeze.

As to the use of expletives, that guy is the best here, and grammatically correct which I readily acknowledge. Had a boss once who told me that everyone he met has one good thing they do well and clearly in this case his forte.

Bilahari would chide you for promoting the notion of a state having a conscience over the need for us to continuously strive in our national interests! Such dangerous ideas must be completely abolished because ours is not a democracy fit for opposing ideas. Why else would we have so readily rolled out the red carpet for Mugabe and his ilk! Our soft diplomacy helps us gain a massive influence over such post-colonial people champions! Look at what we have achieved in Angola! Why else have we been blessed by the best of their kind as national leaders! Each of us should take the knee unlike our internationally acclaimed super-diplomats such as Bilahari who has been invited to Haifa to give lectures to the Israelis just this week! And the week before our own internationally renowned self-taught ex-RSAF pilot turned string theorist from NUS was in the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot Israel (again) teaching them a thing or two why we Majulah Singapura in everything we pursue!

How wonderfully we have turned teachers to the Mexicans.

Forget Trump and the rest of the Europeans. The elusive peace treaty can be reached by Singapore steering its course because after all we are the bestest brains and politicians with a super-duper civil service.

It should be "dangerous to allow such high falutin ideas to go undemolished". That's the correct phrasing which is adopted by all Singaporeans.

As reported in the Times Of India online.

No defence co-production with India until ban on ST Kinetics lifted: Singapore

While Singapore is open to the idea of defence co-production with India, it will not explore any such opportunity until the government officially lifts the ban on Singapore Technologies (ST) Kinetics, Singapore's leading defence firm, for its alleged involvement in the 2009 Ordnance Factory Board bribery scandal.

Top sources confirmed to TOI that this had been conveyed to the government at the highest level by Singapore after India brought up the possibility of joint manufacturing of defence equipment by the two countries.

In an attempt to boost his Make In India initiative, sources said, PM Narendra Modi had himself discussed defence co-production between India and Singapore in his meeting with his counterpart Lee Hsien Loong last month.

Singapore's position is significant as it otherwise figures prominently in some of Modi government's flagship schemes including not just Make in India but also Smart Cities. The two countries signed the revised Defence Cooperation Agreement in 2015 and have, as the two prime ministers noted in a joint statement last month, made significant progress in defence cooperation since then.

"It's more about what Indian law requires than about what Singapore wants. It is India which is seeking defence co-production but this cannot be possible without the involvement of Singapore's main defence company," said an official who did not want to be quoted.

Earlier this year, in June, the two countries had their inaugural Defence Ministers' Dialogue which saw them exploring new areas for bilateral cooperation. The joint statement issued after the Modi-Lee meeting also noted the convening of the first Defence Industry Working Group in May 2016, the continued progress in cooperation in defence RnD and technology, regular joint military exercises and training between armies, navies and air forces. The two countries have also looked to facilitate service-to-service cooperation, naval ship visits and sharing of white-shipping information.

Defence co-production though is likely to remain elusive with Singapore insisting that the defence ministry remove the ban on ST Kinetics. The Singapore firm was among several other foreign firms which were proscribed in 2012 for 10 years.

The ban in 2012 followed a CBI chargesheet against then director general of ordnance factories Sudipta Ghosh for seeking "illegal gratification" from defence companies.

ST Kinetics had later filed a writ petition in court seeking to challenge the ban which prevents it from entering into any business deal with Ordnance Factory Board for 10 years. The company was in the running for contracts to supply howitzers and all-terrain vehicles when it was banned.

Earlier this month, the defence ministry was said to have approved a new policy for blacklisting which seeks to do away with earlier 10-year bans and instead proscribe firms only for 1 year at a time. Diplomatic sources, however, said this had not yet been communicated to Singapore authorities.

I remember how Old Man offered Marcos and Imelda the sanctuary of Singapore in their hour of need literally as the helicopter was being packed with trunks full of money. Marcos snubbed the old man and went to Hawaii. The Thais always used Singapore as the first destination of flight for desposed generals and PMs when a coup occurs. They will land, spend 3 days here, go to Rangoon Road a for a meal and then head out to Europe or US. Then the Burmese. Then we have the Indians who took refugee over money laundering in Mauritius.

As to the pull of Israel, we think we are like the them and are facing the same issues as them and therefore kindred folk. Some of us actually think we have become equal to them. They on the other hand think little of us and actually think that ours is an accidental country.

I wonder if Bil knows that they like the Americans are reading him like a book.

Its the Indians that came up with the idea. India has a very poor history of honouring their past commitments with Singapore - airports, airline servicing, acess to other sectors etc. Even sending ex Minister Dhanalaban did not help an iota.

As to we bribing, our Arms industry like all others are just as corrupt. Note the recent cases of ex and retired ST people going to jail. Lets not forget Keppel and Brazil. We use FT cut-offs when dealing overseas.

More shit spewing from your mouth again? U think Marcos can just hoped into this helicopter you are talking about, accept Old Fart's offer, and then fly to Singapore? I don't know any helicopter in the world back in 1986 that can fly a 2400km trip, fully loaded. Do you?

Marcos was being overthrown, his palace was being stormed, and hundreds of thousands of people were in the streets looking for him. That is why he had to flee. Under such circumstances, he could not even trust to board PAL flight for fear they will turn him in and he couldn't even trust his own military anymore. That is why the US had to evacuate him to Clark AFB and then to Guam in USAF C-130s, and finally to Hawaii in USAF C-141s. Unless Old Fart had a RSAF C-130 warming up on the tarmac of Manila International waiting for him, there is no way Marcos can take that offer. And there is nothing in it for Old Fart. Why incur the wrath of a ASEAN country by offering refuge to the big Corruption of the Philippines? The only way Old fart might have done that is if Marcos gave him some gold bars, but the US were going to get him out for free. Your mythical offer never happened.
