  印度报警电话:0091-100;

  中国驻印度使馆领事保护电话:0091-9810597886;

Seven killed in India-Pakistan cross-border shelling

Seven people were killed in Kashmir in cross-border shelling by both Pakistan and India on Saturday, officials on both sides of the frontier said, as the first death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani raised tensions in the region.

The violence occurred as hundreds of militants and political activists took to the streets in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir to commemorate the death of Burhan Wani.

A Reuters witness saw protesters holding Pakistani flags and banners and shouting slogans lauding the sacrifice of Wani and others, while pledging to carry on the holy war in Kashmir.

“Jihad is our path, freedom is our destination,” they shouted while holding up portraits of the slain militant.

Another Reuters witness saw demonstrators wearing face masks throwing stones at police in downtown Srinagar. Police retaliated with teargas and stones thrown using slingshots.

Authorities blocked internet access in Kashmir on Friday and sealed off his home town after Wani’s supporters said they would stage demonstrations to mark the anniversary.

Five people died on Pakistan’s side of the disputed border and 10 were wounded in cross-border shelling, local police officials told Reuters.

Pakistan’s government said it summoned India’s deputy high commissioner JP Singh over what it called “unprovoked ceasefire violations”.

The Indian army’s defence spokesman said two civilians were killed on its side of the frontier and two injured due to shelling by Pakistani troops. The army responded in kind to the Pakistani shelling, he said.

Militant commander leads protest

India has been struggling to restore normality in Kashmir, deploying thousands more soldiers after Wani’s killing appeared to breathe new life into a 28-year armed revolt that had ebbed, with little international attention.

Syed Salahuddin’s, a Pakistan-based Kashmiri militant commander, whom Washington last week added to a list of global terrorists, called for a strike on Saturday to mark Wani’s killing and led the protest in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

Syed Salahuddin’s United Jihad Council vowed to continue its struggle to liberate Kashmir and called upon Islamabad to support their efforts “militarily.”

“Diplomatic, moral and political support will not work anymore,” he said, addressing a large crowd gathered in an open space in Muzaffarabad.

He said a tripartite dialogue between India, Pakistan and the Kashmiris to resolve the dispute in accordance with UN security council resolutions, will be welcomed.

moreover, the pla will face a shortfall of able-bodied men who are willing to be separated from their mommas like spoilt brats and endure hardship and hazards at the frontier. that clock has been ticking since 1996, and by now it's too late to undo the damage of the one-child policy. prc will be a military-weak nation run by pussified guniangs behind video game consoles in 6.9 years.

KIM JONG NUKE got more rocket launchers than Xijinpin

http://www.globalfirepower.com/armor-mlrs-total.asp

MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) is a tracked or wheeled vehicle mounting a rocket launching (projecting) system atop its hull. In this configuration, the MLRS projects unguided rockets against enemy positions in an artillery-minded sense. The MLRS offers a devastating physical and psychological effect on the enemy, capped with high explosive, anti--personnel or chemical warheads as needed. The best known MLRS development is the timeless BM-13 'Katyusha' wheeled system of the Soviet Union used during World War 2, seeing widespread exportation to its allies in the years following. The Western modern equivalent is the American M270 MLRS. Systems on order (heading into the new year) are not taken into account.

Despite advanced made for the modern battlefield (namely armor-defeating guided munitions), the combat tank remains the primary spearhead for ground offensives combining the qualities of firepower, mobility protection into an all-in-one system. For the purposes of the GFP ranking, tank strength totals include Main Battle Tanks (MBTs) and and light tanks (those few still in service) but not dedicated Tank Destroyers (TDs) which some nations still rely on. Systems on order (heading into the next year) are not taken into account.

http://www.globalfirepower.com/aircraft-total.asp

The aircraft received its baptism of fire during World War 1 when fabric-over-wood monoplanes, biplanes and triplanes first took to the skies in combat. Since then, the military aircraft has evolved considerably relying on advanced stealth coatings and electronics, supercruise technology and precision-guided / fire-and-forget munitions.

For the purposes of the GFP ranking, both fixed-wing and rotary-wing (helicopters) aircraft are factored in as are active aircraft from all branches of srvice (air force, army, navy, marines). All aircraft types are considered including basic / advanced trainers, transports, fighters, bombers, special missions platforms and the like. Aircraft currently on order (heading into the next year) are not taken into account.

Seven killed in Kashmir cross-border shelling
India and Pakistan trade blame over deadly shelling on the anniversary of the death of rebel leader Burhan Wani.

Seven people have been killed in cross-border shelling in disputed Kashmir, with both Pakistani and Indian officials trading the blame.

The violence occurred as protesters clashed with police in Indian-administered Kashmir on Saturday, as they marked the anniversary of the death of rebel leader Burhan Wani who was killed by the army after urging the region's mainly Muslim population to rise up against Indian forces.

Five people died and 10 were wounded on Pakistan's side of the disputed border, local police officials told Reuters news agency.

Pakistan's government said it summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh over what it called "unprovoked ceasefire violations".

The Indian army's defence spokesman said two civilians were killed and two others were wounded on its side of the frontier due to shelling by Pakistani troops. The army responded in kind to the Pakistani shelling, he said.

The disputed region has seen an explosion of protests against Indian rule since government forces shot and killed Wani a year ago.

The death of the 23-year-old, who had built up a big following on social media, sparked an outpouring of grief and anger that spilled into the streets and led to months of clashes with security forces.

Nearly 100 people died in the months that followed and many more sustained serious eye injuries from the pellet guns used by government forces to quell the protests.

"Burhan made a place in our hearts as a hero," Kashmiri student Umair Farooq told Al Jazeera before the anniversary. "Many young Kashmiris joined the rebellion after his death. He is still alive in our hearts."
'Fighting for their future'

Separatist leaders, most of whom have been either confined to their homes or jailed, have called for a week of protests from Saturday to mark Wani's death.

Muzaffar Wani, Burhan's father, told Al Jazeera that the protest movement in the region cannot be suppressed by the authorities.

"The more they try to suppress us, the more we will rise up. Everyone here is fighting for their future," he said.

"Given the kind of suppression we are facing, people think it is better to sacrifice themselves, rather than permitting humiliation of their mothers, brothers and sisters."

All roads leading to Wani's hometown of Tral in south Kashmir were blocked in advance of the anniversary and authorities seized thousands of motorbikes to prevent people from travelling between villages in the area.

Witnesses and police told the AFP news agency that clashes broke out on Saturday when protesters tried to reach the family home and were blocked by government forces.
Sixty years of division

Kashmir, divided between India and Pakistan since 1947, has a long history of conflict and is one of the most heavily militarised places on earth.

The mountainous region is home to dozens of armed groups fighting for independence or a merger of the territory with Pakistan.

However, since Wani's death, civilians have played an increasingly active role in the rebellion against Indian rule.

In parts of south Kashmir, the epicentre of protests, villagers began intervening in raids on suspects, throwing stones at government forces to create a distraction and give the rebels a chance to flee.

A day after India and the US asked Pakistan to ensure that its soil was not used to launch cross-border terror strikes, China on Wednesday has defended its ‘all-weather’ ally, saying Islamabad was at the frontlines of the fight against terrorism. In a joint press briefing with President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Eliminating terrorism is among the topmost priorities for us. We talked about terrorism, extremism and radicalisation and agreed to cooperate on this. Fighting terrorism and doing away with the safe shelters, sanctuaries, and safe havens will be an important part of our cooperation. ”

In his response to the India-US joint statement, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said, “China thinks that the international cooperation against terrorism should be enhanced and stepped up. The international community should give full recognition and affirmation to Pakistan’s efforts in this regard.” Lu also responded to the statement in which India and the US had asked Islamabad to ensure that its soil is not used for cross-border terror. He said, “We have to say Pakistan stands at the frontlines of the international counter-terrorism fight and has been making efforts in this regard.”

Lu, while commenting on the Modi -Trump talks to improve Indo-US ties, said, “China is pleased over countries developing friendly cooperative relations. We think such relations play a positive and constructive role in upholding peace and stability in the region.”

The joint statement issued on Tuesday has also asked Pakistan to expeditiously bring to justice the perpetrators of the Mumbai, Pathankot, and other cross-border terrorist attacks. Earlier, the US State Department declared Syed Salahuddin, chief of Kashmiri militant group Hizbul Mujahideen, as a ‘global terrorist’. The State Department’s action has given a firm message against the terrorism.

PLA may have 2m plus personnel but a large portion are jialiaobee. PLA music & drama aka 文宣部 number in the ten of thousands. Knn, singer also can promote to general rank. there also the history of 吃空饷。then also minus the political commissars. If from platoon level have commissar, that a lot of useless ppl. Then there the issue of altitude sickness. Not everyone can tahan. Not every units have 山炮 and manpack mortar that are outdated in normal terrain but still relevant in mountainous terrain.

If really become shooting war, PLA can only relied on the 清藏铁路 as main supply route. Not ideal at all.

India also have Gurkha regiments, born and grew up in mountain regions. They are one of the best light infantry in the world. The term 如鱼得水 cannot be more true.

Unless the Indian field commanders bloody incompetent, it won't be walk in the park for the PLA.

China Sends A Stark Warning To India

Road construction disputes between China and India are turning worse. This week, Beijing had a loud and clear message for India: stop spoiling our plans or you will suffer "greater losses" than 1962.

That’s according to a Globaltimes editorial where Beijing responded to India’s military mobilization in the Dokalam area of the Sikkim sector to block the Chinese army’s efforts to build a road. “If New Delhi believes that its military might can be used as leverage in the Donglang area, and it's ready for a two-and-a-half front war, we have to tell India that the Chinese look down on their military power. Jaitley is right that the India of 2017 is different from that of 1962 - India will suffer greater losses than in 1962 if it incites military conflicts.”

Investors should follow closely ongoing disputes between China and India, as they raise geopolitical risks for markets in the region. Especially, if they lead into an outright war, as it was the case back in 1962.

Index/Fund 1-month Performance
IShares China (FXI) -1.19%
Global X MSCI Pakistan (PAK) -12.22%
iShares S&P India 50 (INDY) -0.84%

Source: Finance.yahoo.com 7/5/2017

The two countries have already been in dispute over China’s construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which runs through Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, an area claimed by India.

New Delhi has also been watching closely China’s infrastructure projects in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, fearing that Beijing is trying to encircle India, and re-claim disputed areas.

But it won’t be easy. India's Modi has been amassing a great deal of support by old and new friends and allies that could spoil China’s grand plans.

China Could Support Independence For Sikkim, Beijing Media Warns India

China's Global Times urged Beijing to support the separation of Sikkim from India.
Beijing:
Highlights

Global Times urged Beijing to consider supporting Sikkim's "independence"
India, China engaged in standoff in Dokalam area for last 19 days
India had said the border standoff could be solved diplomatically

China's official media has said Beijing should reconsider its stance and support Sikkim's "independence", ratcheting up its rhetoric amid a row with India over a road being built by the Chinese army in the Sikkim sector.

"Beijing should reconsider its stance over the Sikkim issue. Although China recognized India's annexation of Sikkim in 2003, it can readjust its stance on the matter," says an editorial in the hardline Global Times, run by the Communist Party of China's People's Daily newspaper.

"As long as there are voices in Chinese society supporting Sikkim's independence, the voices will spread and fuel pro-independence appeals in Sikkim," it says.

China and India have been locked in a standoff in the Dokalam area near the India, China, Bhutan tri-junction for the past 19 days, after Chinese troops tried to build the road there. Doka La is the Indian name for the region which Bhutan recognises as Dokalam and China claims as the Donglang region.

Global Times said New Delhi's "regional hegemony is swelling to a tipping point" and it needs to "pay for its provocations".

It said: "In the past, China was wary of India playing the Dalai Lama card, but this card is already overplayed and will exert no additional effect on the Tibet question. But if Beijing adjusts its stance on India-sensitive issues, it could be a powerful card to deal with New Delhi."

It also said China should lead the international community in "restoring Bhutan's diplomatic and defense sovereignty".

The editorial accused India of having "brutally cracked down" on Sikkim's "revolts over sovereignty" in the 1960s and 1970s. "New Delhi deposed the king of Sikkim in 1975 and manipulated the country's parliament into a referendum to make Sikkim a state of India," said the daily.

Yesterday, the ruling party's tabloid had quoted Chinese experts as saying that Beijing would be forced to use a "military way" to end the standoff "if India refused to listen".
