Within a span of about half an hour, he pounced on two women from behind and grabbed their breasts in broad daylight.
In one incident, Ng Tee Yong even committed the offence in the presence of the woman’s daughter.
Ng, a 26-year-old unemployed Singaporean, pleaded guilty on Friday (9 June) in the State Courts to two counts of using criminal force on the two women.
The court heard that on 13 August last year, a 49-year-old woman was leaving her house to have breakfast at a nearby coffeeshop around 7.15am when the incident happened.
As she headed to the coffee shop after exiting a lift, the woman heard loud footsteps behind her. Ng then approached the woman from behind and grabbed her breasts. The shocked woman turned to shout at Ng but he ran away. Ng’s acts were caught by a CCTV camera at the block.
The woman made a police report at Bedok North Neighbourhood Police Centre on 20 August 2016.
Barely half an hour later after the first incident, Ng preyed on another woman just outside her house.
The woman, 46, was seeing her daughter, 13, off to school outside her unit at about 7.45am. As her daughter had forgotten her house keys, the woman stepped back into the house to retrieve them.
As she stepped out of her house again, Ng committed grabbed her breasts in front of her daughter. The woman shouted and tried to pursue Ng but lost him.
The woman informed the police of the incident shortly after 9am.
The case has been adjourned to 14 July for Ng to obtain a suitability report for a Mandatory Treatment Order.
For using criminal force on a person, Ng can be jailed up to three months and/or fined up to $1,500.
