Why Derick didnt call the scdf ambulance to send him to raffles. then pap will be footing the 4k bill.
Starting from 3 June 2015, Raffles Hospital will be providing emergency medical care to patients sent to Raffles Hospital by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) ambulances, under an Emergency Care Collaboration between Raffles Hospital and the Ministry of Health.
Under the collaboration, first announced in December 2014, SCDF ambulances will send patients assessed with non-life threatening conditions to Raffles Hospital’s Emergency Department for treatment if it is the nearest available and appropriate hospital, during the operating hours of the collaboration[1]. Should these patients subsequently need to be admitted for inpatient care or referred for specialist outpatient care, these services will also be provided by Raffles Hospital.
Patients sent by SCDF ambulances to Raffles Hospital will enjoy subsidised care, and will pay rates that are similar to those in public hospitals. This applies to treatment rendered in the Emergency Department, as well as inpatient care and follow-up treatment in its specialist outpatient clinics.
This collaboration helps to enhance access to subsidised healthcare in Singapore.
