【星島日報報道】國泰港龍KA-8348客機本月一日(上周四)原定由香港飛往日本石川縣的小松機場，客機飛行近一小時至台灣上空時，機長始發現竟忘記帶小松機場的航圖(flight map)，基於安全考慮折返香港，機師取回航圖後再出發往日本，航程延誤近四小時。
國泰港龍發言人證實，當班於六月一日上午9時25分由香港出發前往日本小松市的KA8348包機航班，因並未配備相關機場的航圖而折返香港國際機場。航機安全降落香港機場後於同日下午繼續行程，並於當地時間下午6時38分抵達目的地。該航班載有155名乘客。國泰就事件為乘客帶來不便致歉。
國泰港龍航空正展開內部調查，以確保類似事件不再發生，亦已就事件通報民航處，並配合作出跟進。
民航處回應指，六月一日上午11時16分，一班原定由香港前往日本小松機場的國泰港龍包機通知空管人員，因為沒有目的地機場的航圖，所以要求折返香港國際機場。空管指揮塔人員按既定程序，安排該航班於當日12時46分安全降落香港國際機場，正就該事件與有關航空公司跟進。

The Kentucky Dragon KA-8348 is scheduled to fly from Hong Kong to Komatsu Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. When the plane flew for nearly an hour to over Taiwan, the captain began to forget that the KA-8348 Flight map of Komatsu Airport, based on security considerations to return to Hong Kong, the pilots to retrieve the map and then to Japan, the flight delay of nearly four hours.
Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Dragon spokesman confirmed that on duty at 9:25 am on June 1 from Hong Kong to Japan Komatsu City KA8348 charter flights, not equipped with the relevant airport map and return to Hong Kong International Airport. The aircraft will continue to travel on the same day after landing at Hong Kong Airport and arrive at 6:38 pm local time at 6:38 pm local time. The flight contains 155 passengers. Cathay on the incident for the passengers inconvenience apology.
Cathay Pacific Dragon Airways is conducting an internal investigation to ensure that similar incidents are no longer occurring and have been communicated to the Civil Aviation Department on the incident and have followed suit.
The Civil Aviation Department (ICAC) responded that at 11:16 am on 1 June, a group of Cathay Pacific Longtong charter flights from Hong Kong to Japan's Komatsu airport were not informed that there was no route map of the destination airport, so it was required to return to Hong Kong International Airport The Air Traffic Control Command staff in accordance with established procedures, arrangements for the flight at 12:46 on the day of safe landing Hong Kong International Airport, is on the incident with the relevant airlines to follow up.
