Chitchat Trump to pull US out of Paris Agreement

the paris accord is political grandstanding on an international scale, and it does nothing to change behaviors and policies of individual states and companies within those states. china and india polluters will continue to pollute and signee cuntries can't do a thing about it. u.s., major contributor to pollutants as she's a humungous economy and consumer of energy, will continue to pollute but at least behavior and policies at the state, county, city, company and consumer levels are changing.....for the better to keep air and environment clean. need no stinking political grandstanding to keep in line. paris accord is just that. worthless agreement that cannot be enforced by collective govs. ultimately it rests with citizens and residents.

If the world is serious about going green, the whole world has to make a pact on this and take action. Agreed!!

It is not as if that US citizens are taking this down. Many US mayors and governors have pledged to continue their green movement anyway and since the Paris agreement is on a voluntary basis, it does not really matter Trump withdraw out of the agreement. I believe this is what makes US great. Individuals exercising their freedom without the govt prodding them.

This is what I love about the west.

They respect the individual and take the individual's opinion into SERIOUS consideration.

It is ironic that the biggest polluters of the earth, the Chinese, are stepping forward.

And then also, doubly ironic that Asian nations are pushing ahead with a modified TPP without US involvement - an agreement that would essentially enable MNCs to BYPASS whatever the paris accord says, or whatever REMAINS after the Chinese have step up and taken control of it.

Everyone's a bloody hypocrite here!

as expected, potus does the right thing. if you have read the paris agreement you would have pulled out too. any multi-lateral agreement involving too many cuntries with much of the onus and liability on richer cuntries is a recipe for cheating, abuse and disaster. moreover, the u.s. will have to surrender much of her sovereignty to allow this new global community to interfere with her economy and domestic matters. this kind of seemingly benigh, well-intentioned yet unfathomable world gov must be challenged and resisted. take a step back, understand the repercussions and still contribute to a cleaner environment without this fancy overly-ambitious multi-national pipedream. since majority of cuntries and govs cannot be trusted it's better to work bi-lateral deals with selected cuntries and results will be more measurable. the u.s. is already taking the lead investing in clean-air energy and transportation r&d and doing her part recycling in all states and going eco-friendly in all cities. there's no need to be part of this stinking agreement. other polluting nations should be part of it as they lack the discipline.

It is paradoxical too coming from the President of the UNITED states as multilateral agreements mirror federalist model to a certain extent. Is he going to say federal judges or even the President should not dictate rules over the individual states and the President should negotiate one to one with each state on immigration and jobs instead of signing an Executive Order?

Pointless reading the agreement. The devil is not in the details and we all know that Trump has no idea what it does, what it means and what it is supposed to do. But he knows the rednecks and the bible thumpers are in the same zone as him. If Obama rejected the Paris Agreement he probably would have asked the G7 to convene it again.

The White House Admin staff dare not even state his actual position. Never seen so many well qualified people in the Admin looking like dills or more accurately are prepared to be a dill.

the constitution is not written as a multilateral agreement but as a set of laws governing the federation of multiple states. in a multilateral agreement "sovereign" nations as opposed to states stripped of their "sovereignty" (in fact founding member states of u.s.a. did not have sovereignty in the 1st place as they were colonies of the english king) deal with each other in trade issues and other lofty ideals such as anti-human and anti-drug trafficking, etc. in the u.s. constipation, oops constitution, former colonies and new states are subject to federal laws with little to zero hope of secession and or pulling out of a coital relationship even if it's bdsm abusive day in day out.

The other bunch of parasitic twits are the people that make up the EU Parliament. They're probably even more jiakliaobee than the UN.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Parliament - 750 MEMBERS!!!!!

And let's not forget the European Commission that has a staff of 23,000 who shuffle documents from one desk to the next.

was at brussels and luxembourg to visit their offices, and i'm still reeling from shock at the sprawl of buildings, offices, titles and staff assigned to them. at least they are modern, classy and well mannered, but overly bloated and ineffectually organized - a monster organization of fancy names with nothing to do.

while $1b has been spent by the u.s. on the funding, obama pledged $3b to get the accord going in 2015. when the u.n. learned that u.s. would be bearing the brunt of the minimum amount of $100b to be funded by developed nations to spur developing nations to sign on, 195 cuntries happily agreed. what a crock of shit for u.s. taxpayers. follow the money, and we know where this is going.

from npr...

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...o-what-exactly-is-in-the-paris-climate-accord

$100 Billion
"To help developing countries switch from fossil fuels to greener sources of energy and adapt to the effects of climate change, the developed world will provide $100 billion a year," NPR's Christopher Joyce reports.

But that amount is identified as a "floor," not a ceiling.

"Developed countries won inclusion of language that would up the ante in subsequent years," he explains, "so that financial aid will keep ramping up over time."

If money is the issue, the US can simply stay within the Paris agreement & STOP paying $$.
They can then open discussions on getting better terms.

By withdrawing from the accord Trump is giving up on all the potential money that the US companies could make developing & selling green technologies.

His claim that he was doing it for Pittsburgh is laughable because Pittsburgh voted for Hilary & they have adopting many green technologies & see it as the future. Suspect that the main reason he decided to withdraw from Paris was because it was supported by Obama.
