if you have already bought a 30-pin to camera adapter in the past, the box also has a 30-pin to ssd card adapter. with new apple devices using the lightning connector, instead of buying 2 new adapters at the store for lightning to camera (usb) and lightning to ssd card (they are sold separately now), all you need is a lightning to 30-pin adapter. you can use them back to back. i've tested it with several 3rd party cameras and ssd cards, and they work with one exception. the only camera that doesn't work back to back is the gopro hero3. however, you can remove the ssd from the gopro and insert it in a card adapter and use the 30-pin to ssd adapter back to back with the lightning to 30-pin adapter. the genius bar and apple tech support have no clue about this and will recommend you to buy 2 new lightning adapters, but i've just advised them about the work around above.
