Chitchat Yet Another Car Parallel Importer Run Road! Sinkies Not Tired Of Getting Cheated!

SINGAPORE - A police report has been lodged against a parallel car importer in Sin Ming, which allegedly owes at least 10 buyers about $250,000.

Star Link Pte Ltd - located on the ground floor of a block at Midview City - was closed when concerned car buyers visited it on Tuesday (May 2), Lianhe Wanbao reported.

A Wanbao reporter who visited the office spotted three brand new cars inside Star Link's premises.

But an employee told me the boss was not around then and said to collect the car on Tuesday. When I arrived, I found that the doors were locked," he added.

Another buyer, Madam Pan, 53, who works in sales, paid about $30,500 to Star Link. She was supposed to collect her car on Tuesday night, but had been unable to contact the firm when she tried calling that morning.

"I read newspaper reports of so many similar cases and thought I was already very careful - who knew I'd also be a victim?" she lamented.


Parallel importer Royal Automotive owe car buyers money: 6 other car firms in trouble

The Consumers Association of Singapore told Wanbao that it had received three complaints about Star Link since January this year.

All three complaints were about the firm not delivering cars to buyers on time after receiving payment.

When contacted by The Straits Times, police confirmed that a report has been lodged and that they are looking into the matter.

Parallel car importers have been in the news recently for getting into trouble with buyers.

In March, Royal Automotive in Woodlands closed down, affecting at least 13 buyers who claimed they were owed about $600,000.

KH is a moron. He round-tripped the money, not cheated the church of its money. So, the church got all their money back and KH went to jail for nothing. Pretty silly I would think, given that his Sun Ho is now only an ugly MILF with a horse face.

This guy, Wahju Hanafi, some rich Indon tycoon.

On Friday, details of City Harvest Church founder Kong Hee's ties with long-time church member and donor Wahju Hanafi emerged in court as the criminal trial against Kong and his five of his deputies continued.

The six church leaders were charged last year with misusing about $50 million worth of church funds. Two firms are accused of helping them to do so. Mr Hanafi, an Indonesian businessman, was director of one firm and owner of the other.

The sinkie High Court agreed that the CHC leaders did not misappropriate the money for personal gain. They basically round-tripped the money but did not pocket a dime. Pretty silly reason to go to jail for. Laundering but yet not profiting personally from it.

The Judges said, "While a director undoubtedly holds an important position in a company or organisation, it cannot be said that a person by becoming a director has offered his services as an agent to the community at large or that he makes his living as an agent."

The case is unprecedented as the church suffered no financial loss.

Jason Chan, Kong's lawyer stated that if this is the largest amount going out the door, it is also unprecedented in that it is the largest amount coming back.

However, the judge stated that the actions of the CHC were criminal as they took the funds into their own hands to use as they pleased, despite them being plainly not authorised to do so.

The car in sg context is more than just for transport getting around.
It's a status symbol. One of the 5 or 6Cs.
That's why you see uber grab taking off here because sinkies will have ways and means to be able to drive a car.
