A weak leader will surround himself with weak lieutenants so that there's no threat to the throne. This is how empires die.

Heard from a grassroots leader (who apparently don't have high regard for him ) that TSL wasn't headhunted by pap but he stepped forward to volunteer his service.

I have seen this guy from his early years. He is not one to toe the line. I was delighted to hear that he downgraded someone who was riding on the coat tails of his father who was ex civil service head and highly influential. Pretty recent. Typically you let these things ride or move the problem but not this guy. It remains to be seen what he does in the near future.

Was told he tendered in his resignation letter in the late 90s. True?

Number of ranking individuals have tendered their resignations in the past and were persuaded to stay on. I did not hear this about him though but he is quite decisive by nature.

This guy is a total mystery. The moment he joined politics, nearly everyone thought that was something wrong with him. Even TCJ was more impressive. Initially it was thought to be family connection but that too hit a dead end. The fact that he ended up in NTUC and black ops with PA suggest that the public take of him was right.

Somone certainly sponsored or recommended him and that person is clearly influential. Not a public figure but likely a party member. He reminds me of Ong Ye Kung and the Amoy St political gang. Both will sell their soul for political gain.

would love to know your take on CCS, scrooby....I never cease to marvel at this dude.

She was literally obese with thunder thighs. One day she went on a weight loss programme and lost the weight. Belive me I too was surpised.

Teo Ser Lee. How she made Miss Universe is beyond me. In this shot in Singapore movie she made me wince every time I get a blowjob from a woman. A shark would induce less fear. Please forward to the end at 1: 32: 24.

He was a rising star in the private sector at a young age, from Nike to DHL. Known to be highly energetic, well organised and a people person, big things were expected when he came on board. He also had cover from Teo Chee Hean or people though Teo had his back. Teo SL was also known to put his hands up for everything from party work, PA work, constitutency work plus his fitness regime. He also became an auntie killer as well as young female grassroots fans in tow.

Things began to fall apart when he was appointed Minister of State for MTI after GE 2011. MTI is tier 1 posting after MOF. Politics has little clout in both these areas. PS, DS, and even newly returned scholars found a hollow individual with little or no substance. He was literally marginalised within weeks.

Interestingly Teo Chee Hean never ever let this guy anywhere near his areas of accountability. Eventually his own peers considered him a joke. He became associated for his car, his presence at country clubs and his ironman marathons. And the company he keeps.

The guy to be fair is more suitables to drive outfits with clear targets and the need to build relationships and networks. He would do well in sales. Policy, thought process, logical thinking are not his forte.

By the way he headed YOG organising setup. After that he was not given any distinct project but asked to go over at Mayor. The million dollar question is why PM made him MOS of all things MTI. It was something people are still struggling as by 2008, he capabilities or lack of it was well known.

After 2015, he was moved to MOM and it wasn't long before Lim Swee Say had the same issue. From MTI to MOM and then down again? The writing was on the wall. In essence, any golden boy recruited by a private company found wanting, steps are taken to either move that individual sideways and downwards. Most people facing that situation will normally leave to avoid destroying their CV.

This espisode also reflects badly on PM and his judgement. Its never easy to find the right fit but how he was promoted to MTI knowing full well that Admin Service would have caught him out within 2 meetings. If it was parliamentary or political sec appt, it would not have raised an eyebrow as it is a role to pay an MP wages and contribute at political grassroots level.

Then again Josephine Teo and Desmond Lee appointment to cabinet by the PM says much about the guy and why he made Teo Ser Luck MOS - MTI.

Sadly the cabinet is nowhere close to any of its predecessors.

Finally, no he did not ask to step down, he was told where he was going and then he asked to step down.
o

one thing for sure - he has LUCK aplenty. thats what matter most in life.

Thought he had no aptitude for politics, policy or public service leadership, he was still an asset to get things done at grassroots level hence the mayorship. I am sure they would have kept him if he agreed to lose the MOS or downgraded.

had he joined the saf upon graduation he would have been in the "farmer tier". Luck plays a key role.

Teo was educated at Rosyth School, Victoria School and Nanyang Junior College, before going on to Nanyang Technological University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree in 1992. He also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma from Temasek Polytechnic.

Teo is a former President of the Old Victorians' Association (the alumni body for Victoria School and Victoria Junior College).[5] He received the "Outstanding Young Alumni Award" from Nanyang Technological University in 2007.

These MPs are taking their experience and going corporate - here's why SMEs stand to benefit Vulcan Post | Melissa Chan | Friday, Apr 28, 2017 L to R: Teo Ser Luck and Tin Pei Ling Photo: Lianhe Zaobao and The Straits Times Melissa Chan Vulcan Post Friday, Apr 28, 2017 Yesterday, 2 Members of Parliament (MPs), Minister of State for Manpower and Mayor of North East CDC Teo Ser Luck, and MP for the MacPherson SMC Tin Pei Ling announced their entry into the private sector once again. More significantly, both of them would now be direct contributors to the tech and startup space in Singapore. Tin would be moving to Jing King Tech Group and Teo plans to "build, create, invest or help start-ups and businesses".

Details of their new duties are still not clear, but both have assured that they would still be serving in their public sector roles Here's what you need to know about both of them, and what they could bring to their new appointments

In a Facebook post, Tin, the only full-time MP from the People's Action Party, announced her return to the private sector as group director of corporate strategy of Jing King Tech Group, a Singaporean company with a focus on FinTech. Founded in 1984, the Group has 20 offices in Singapore, China and Hong Kong, and is said to be worth "nearly US$250 million". With a focus on providing smart cards, cloud computing, biometrics technology, and data cryptography (just to name a few) to customers, Tin's experience as a consultant at Ernst & Young is slated to come in handy for her new duties. A mother of a 2-year-old, Tin has also been a strong advocate for the empowerment of working mums like herself. As such, it would certainly be interesting to see how her added appointment can bolster her efforts as well -

Teo is known more for his contributions in the Public Service, but he has rich corporate experience as well. Having worked at Nike Singapore, Coopers & Lybrand, Menlo Worldwide and DHL in various positions, he was also recognised as a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum in 2007 for his contributions to the business and community services sectors. As Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry (2011-15) and Minister of State, Ministry of Manpower (2015-present), Teo is also known to be active in the promotion of SMEs and the setting up of SME centres, which provide assistance to entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses. Exactly how, and in what position Teo will be executing his new duties is still unknown. However, the perspectives he has gained working in the public service would definitely be helpful to SMEs seeking his advice. The Links Between Government, Tech, SMEs, And Startups It's already known that the Singapore government sees a bright future in tech, SMEs and startups, but beyond financial assistance and creating networks, these announcements are a sign that they truly mean serious business. With the presence of figures in both the public and private sectors, we could potentially see grants and policies better tailored towards what businesses actually need, and not just what the government thinks is best. After all, you have to put yourself in others' shoes in order to learn how they think. And that's exactly what these two MPs are doing. -

Imagine the extent the brothel press would go to to honour 2 proven duds. Both Tin and Teo have never said or did anything of substance during their political life. In fact Tin responses to questions are childish. Tin Pei Ling was an associate in Ernst & Young because Hri Kumar's wife who worked there agreed to hire her for party's sake. Her new job came about after she sat on the same judging panel for Women Entrepreneurs as her new boss a few months ago. They gave a month after the end of the event to make her the offer to avoid people making the link. And the chief judge of the panel is Elim Chew who lost her home after her business collapsed. Another Nance Chong in the making.

Teo will volunteer for any and everything. Young Global Leader my arse.
