SINGAPORE - The Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) has lodged a police report over a flyer, which allegedly offers health checks to women, said to be circulating in Yishun.
SCS chief executive officer Albert Ching, in a statement to The Straits Times, said the flyer "is in no way related to the cancer screening services" the society offers.
An image of the flyer was uploaded on the Facebook page of alternative news site All Singapore Stuff on Tuesday (April 12) afternoon.
The flyer, which contained a SCS logo, stated that health checks on women at risk of breast cancer would be conducted at various locations in the Yishun estate on three different days.
It also said that women undergoing check-ups would have to be naked, and that check-up fees ranged from $50 to $100.
Mr Ching said SCS had lodged a report with the police on Tuesday.
"SCS offers free pap smear screening (to detect cervical cancer) and mammogram (to detect breast cancer) to eligible women (by appointment) only at our SCS Cancer Screening clinic located at the Bishan Junction 8 Office Tower," he added.
"Besides the SCS Cancer Screening Clinic, SCS partners selected licensed General Practitioner clinics island-wide to offer pap smears at no cost during campaign period, for example, the annual SCS Women's Gynaecological Cancer Awareness campaign from May to July 2017."
