Spanish police have smashed a "high class" prostitution ring which offered a 16-year-old's virginity for £4,400.

Seven people were arrested after the network was raided in Marbella on Saturday, police said.

Investigators said the ring "offered high-class sex" on different websites with the “virginity of a minor, aged 16, for a price of €5,000" among the offerings.

Spanish authorities launched a probe following “collaboration with an anonymous citizen.”

Police said seven people were arrested and face charges for crimes connected with “prostitution, sexual exploitation and corruption of minors,” according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior.

A police informant said an advertised young woman, who was offering sexual services, claimed to be 18 but appeared much younger.

Another anonymous citizen later reported the girl was actually 16.

Police also seized information that it said could help identify those responsible for the websites in Marbella and Estepona, 25 kilometers away.

The statement added: "After analysing the documentation, the investigators found there was a perfectly organized criminal network behind the ads dedicated to the sexual exploitation of women, which made enormous profits from this activity."

Spain has no special laws banning prostitution, but brothels and pimping are illegal.

Spanish police on Saturday announced they had smashed a high-end prostitution ring whose catalogue of services included offering the sale of an teenage girl's virginity.

Seven people were arrested in the sting and a 16-year-old girl, whose virginity had been offered up online for the price of €5,000, was freed, the police said in a statement.

The network, operating out of the southern resort city of Marbella, advertised the sale of the virginity of a woman who was 18 but looked much younger - but police said she was actually 16.

Authorities described a "perfectly organised" and lucrative network which used telephone operators to book services and taxi rides for prostitutes to hotels and the homes of "clients with a high financial standing".

The network also used a specialised agency to help it optimise its visibility online when internet users searched for prostitution services.

Spanish police have smashed a prostitution ring that was offering “high-class sex” services, including the virginity of a 16-year-old girl, which was put up for sale on one of the group’s websites for €5,000.

The raid took place in the city of Marbella in southern Spain’s Andalusia region, police said in a statement.

The ring “offered high-class sex” on different websites, police said, adding that among the offerings was the “virginity of a minor, aged 16, for a price of €5,000.”

The investigation was launched following “collaboration with an anonymous citizen.” Seven people have been arrested and will be charged for crimes connected with “prostitution, sexual exploitation and corruption of minors,” according to the statement.

According to the police informant, the advertised young woman said she was 18 years old, but appeared much younger.

Another anonymous citizen later reported that the girl was actually 16.

The teenager, whose name wasn’t revealed to the public, was freed during the police operation.

Police also seized digital information essential to the investigation that could help identify those who ran the websites in Marbella and the neighboring town of Estepona, 25 kilometers away.

“After analyzing the documentation, the investigators found there was a perfectly organized criminal network behind the ads dedicated to the sexual exploitation of women, which made enormous profits from this activity,” the statement added.

The operation was conducted as part of the Plan of the National Police against Trafficking of Human Beings for Sexual Exploitation, which was launched in 2013.

Spain has no special laws banning prostitution, but brothels and pimping are illegal.
