Johor sultan is willing to reveal to MACC the middleman who offered RM2 million to obtain a 'Tan Sri' title from Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Datuk-Wan-Ahmad-Najmuddin-Mohd

JOHOR BAHRU: The Sultan of Johor has expressed willingness to disclose to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) the middleman who attempted to bribe him over the conferment of medals.

In his Facebook posting today, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar said he wanted MACC to have an audience with him immediately so that the matter could be investigated.

The Sultan of Johor recently disclosed that he received a RM2 million offer from an individual to recommend a name to the chief secretary for a “Tan Sri” title from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“This is Johor, we have self-pride. You can’t use money to buy awards and titles,” he said.

Earlier, police today arrested a man believed to be the individual responsible for uploading offensive statement on Facebook against the Sultan of Johor and the Johor royal institution.

Johor police chief Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said the man was arrested at 3.30pm in Pasir Gudang here.

“The arrest was made after police received a report at 1.19pm today,” he said in a statement here tonight.

He said police have opened an investigation paper under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

So I should call myself Sri Tan instead of John Tan?
You could change your full name to "Tan Sri John", which can mean that:

1. "Tan" is still your surname, while "Sri John" is your new "Chinese" name. :p

2. Or you can still follow the Western style by calling yourself "Sri John Tan". :p

3. Or if you want "Tan Sri" to only mean that it's your new "title", then "John" can simply be the only word in your full name. :p
