In a facebook status posted by netizen Gordon Tay, he alleged that his 7 year old nephew shared his experience with discrimination faced in the unnamed school canteen.

According to Tay, his nephew bought the same food as his friend Ahmad but on several occasions, he had to pay more than what Ahmad paid at the Malay stall. After his negative unfair experience buying food from the stall, he now feels cheated buying from that particular stall and has decided to no longer eat from that stall.

Tay questioned if such discrimination was taught since a young age, what would our society become in future. It is unclear when this incident occurred or which school this incident took place in.

The food store is run by an individual. The operator can even give the food free to someone if so he desires.

It is not that he is charged more. Malays are just charged less. That's called solidarity, call it a membership discount. LKY would have got two eggs to your one anywhere, he said so himself, even at this stall. Reality bites.

Anyone remember the old days when Malay food was always cheaper than non Malay food?
ie a plate of say soto or mee rebus would always be cheaper than a bowl of prawn noodles or char kwayteow....even Malay chicken rice would be cheaper Chinese version.
But the mats got savvy caught on and starting charging same prices mainly because non Malays are used to such prices.
And for the mats customers not used to the prices....they got 'rebates' in the form of bigger portions, priority service and discounts etc.
It's following pap pattern.....raising prices to squeeze all sinkies but giving 'rebates' to poor sinkies.
