Chitchat Peaceful Imam Suspended After Traitor Convert Leaked His Sermon On Social Media!

SINGAPORE — A police report has been made over remarks made by an imam, who allegedly insulted Christians and Jews during his Friday sermons at a mosque.

In response to TODAY’s queries, a police spokesman said: “The police confirm that a report has been lodged. We are unable to comment further as investigations are ongoing.”

A spokesperson for the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) said it is aware of the case and is assisting the police with their investigations.

In a post uploaded on his Facebook page, A Muslim Convert Once More, the writer, who signed off as Mr Terence Helikaon Nunis, said the imam had made the insulting remarks during his Friday sermons on Jan 6 and Feb 24 at the Masjid Jamae (Chulia) in South Bridge Road.

Mr Nunis also uploaded a video of the imam, who was not identified, giving his sermon on Jan 6.

In his post, uploaded on Feb 24, Mr Nunis said: “We should not encourage this sort of thinking or condone this sort of supplications.”

The Muis spokesperson said: “As part of due process, the individual has been placed on leave whilst investigations are ongoing. Muis takes a very serious view of any behaviour or speech which promotes feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different faith communities.”

Helikaon - The Troy trilogy by David Gemmell is a fantasy series based on the Trojan War.Helikaon is arguably the main character in the trilogy. He is based on Aeneas.

Terenece - Terence is a male given name, derived from the Latin name Terentius. The diminutive form is Terry.

Nunis - Malay name (no idea what it meant).

I did a google search, apparently there are Malaysians with angmo first name and malay last name. Apparently they are Kristang (Christian) people - a creole ethnic group of people of mixed Portuguese and Malaccan descent.

Nunis is a common Singapore and Malaysian Eurasian surname. It is not a Malay name.

The Portuguese origin Eurasian who form the majority of Eurasians in Singapore have their surnames from 16th century Portuguese surnames. de Souza, Pinto,

As a born and bred Singaporean you should have known that our DJs, entertainment personalities, musicians are largely led by Portuguese origin Eurasians.

Michael Palmer, Christopher de Souza, etc are all from the same origin. E W Barker's lineage from the mother side can be traced to the Almeidas - one of the pioneer stock of Portuguese origin.

No wonder this Government can run rings around Singaporeans who have no clue what we are made of . No wonder our kids think that Mandarin is our mother tongue.

A day will come when all the Chinese Babi are slaughtered. It may not be that far away.

My advice to the Chinese in Singapore is to learn Malay asap. It's your National Language. Give it the respect that it deserves as the language of the region and you might be spared when the crunch comes.

This has been a challenging week for our community. A whistle blower posted a video of an imam praying against the Jews and Christians. It sparked a storm.

There is no space in Singapore for extremism or exclusivism because we uphold values of mutual respect and harmony. We utterly reject any speech or actions that foster ill will between communities. This is the Singapore way.

This issue has generated many emotions both online and offline. Many in our community felt angry, because they believe that the postings could be used to cast aspersions on Islam and the asatizah in our mosques. While I understand these

concerns, let us take a step back and reflect. If one of us, a preacher or otherwise, has the crossed the line, he or she must be taken to task. This has been done in other cases involving other religious groups which have crossed the line. There cannot be double standards when we deal with issues that touch on race and religious harmony.
While it is correct to whistle blow when one sees wrongdoing, one must also ask whether the manner in which this is done is appropriate, or if it sows more discord and causes tension in our society. On such sensitive matters it would be better to go to the authorities in the first instance, rather than online.

Minister Shanmugam said in Parliament that Police will investigate the conduct of all involved in this case. MUIS is assisting our Police in their work. Let us leave this case in the good hands of our Police.

Our Mufti Fatris Bakaram himself decided to take his Facebook page offline last night to pause and reflect because he too saw how emotions were being whipped up, and in his wisdom, decided he needed to cool things down. Let us heed his call for peace, and for us all to stay united.

What double standard? Isn't it part of being a muslim to hate Jews and Christians and align with the palestinians? The peaceful imam must not be charged but be cleared of any wrong doing. Islam is a peaceful religion that preaches peace.
