Bandung Mayor reveals that contract for corridor 1 has been awarded to SMRT involved consortium last week after tender closed on 9th Sept. Today SMRT tells the press that it is participating in the tender. Shareholders are going to vote on the sale of their shares to SMRT on 29th Sept.
Interesting they cannot even get their own act together from rail maintenance, trains, signals etc and for a number of years and they are going to build something for another country.
Not only an incompetent company but a dishonest one at that.

SMRT submits bid for Bandung public rail project

SINGAPORE: Public transport operator SMRT, in consortium with Indonesian engineering firm T-Files Indonesia, has submitted a formal bid for the construction of a public rail project in Bandung, Indonesia, it said on Monday (Sep 26).
In a Singapore Exchange (SGX) filing, SMRT said the bid for the "Framework of Investment Construction of Corridor 1 Rail-Based Public Transportation and its Supporting Facilities in Bandung City" was submitted on Sep 9, the same date the tender closed.
The company said the award of the tender would be subject to agreement on the terms of the project, and that it had not received any notification on the outcome of the tender as of the date of the announcement. No agreement had been reached on any of the terms with regard to the construction and implementation of the project, SMRT added.
If the tender is awarded to the consortium, SMRT said it does not expect this development to have a material impact on its net tangible assets per share or earnings per share for the current financial year.
Local media outlets in Indonesia have reported that SMRT is in talks for the construction of the planned Light Rail Transport (LRT) in Bandung City, starting with Corridor 1 - a 10.15-kilometre route from Babakan Siliwangi to Leuwipanjang.
In a Facebook post last Monday, Bandung mayor Ridwan Kamil wrote that SMRT had been awarded the tender for Corridor 1 and that construction would begin by next year if all went well. He added that he hoped the project would help reduce congestion in the city.
National daily Republika and Kompas newspaper quoted Mr Kamil as saying last week that the city's administration was reviewing financing options for the project.
In January, Kompas also reported Mr Kamil as saying that the city's administration was considering the option of integrating the proposed Jakarta-Bandung railway to the Bandung LRT.
SMRT declined to comment beyond the SGX filing it issued.
