seems like another "pioneer generation package"...
It is meant for those people living with dementia patients.
I recalled a show where the dementia mother asked her son " ni jia ba buay?" The son replied ,"wah jia ba liao." After a few moments, the mother asked again,"ni jia ba buay." Shocked, but the son still said to her nicely, "ma, wah jia ba liao." A few moments later, the mother again asked, " ni jia ba buay?" Exasperated, the son torn his hair and told his mother, " ma, wa jia ba liao. wah ji jia ba." . The mother nodded her head and said." ho lah. Jia ba ho lah."
The son heaved a sign of relief. Mother finally understood. He settled down to relax and closed his eyes. He was stirred just when he was about to go into dreamland. The mother woke him up and asked,' ni jia ba buay ? "
Some of the storylines and acting in HK drama series especially from the past are second to none. Even US drama series don't come close.
They're trying to prove that PAP cannot make up their mind whether it's a good idea to ban dialects in their TV shows..

Sheeeehh......this is a known mistake in PAP's drive to kill all dialects in the early 80's by banning all such movies on national tv.
Now SG has a generation of youngsters yhat speaks Singlish, half-past-6 Mandarin, and knows not a single word of dialects.
It alienated the old folks whose only joy and companion was the tv and radio, as well the Redifussion.
Now that the older generation of PAP is mostly dead and gone, especially the kingpin, the younger monkeys need to link with the older generation whose votes are easier to obtain.
Seriously, the error in dialect policy wipes out an entire generation of multi-dialect/language youngsters and oldies.
