They have already started Nuclear research initiative in NUS. They have targeted to have about 100 nuclear scientist for future nuclear plant in Singapore. I think they have plans to set up research into this TMSR as one of the executive in Flibe-energy company was an ex-SAF airforce guy. Most likely he would have made some connection to present to the gov already.

Interview with Benjamin Soon, Flibe Energy, at ThEC15 in Mumbai

and u think SG will be the first country to get the goose that lays the golden eggs with our bunch of goondu heads?if anything Israel or Shell or BP or some private company will be the first to solve the problem of infinite energy and they will be the richest country in the world, every country has to license the technology from them.soon there will be a global energy conglomerate set up all over the world using this thorium nuclear energy,90 percent of the world's energy needs will be generated by this company and the world will be beholden to it.the company will be known as Umbrella corp and their logo will be known all over the world.massive power plants reaching into the heavens will be spring up all over the world.effectively the world's economy will be under its control.

Re: Water Treaty Malaysia: The tremendous financial costs imposed on S'pore by LKY's

There is a recent news report by Shit Times bragging about the fact that singapore is achieving water independence soon. As part of this article, the shit times revealed the cost of the various sources of water. As you know there are 3 water sources. rainwater from Johore under the water treaty. Newater and Desalination water. It turns out that Newater cost 5000 times more to produce then the treated water from Johor!! And Desalination water costs 17,500 times more to produce then the Johor water!!! Holy fuck, we are going broke just trying to produce water for ourselves, thanks to Old Fart's bloody ego and pissing contest with Mahathir. One idiot does not seem to realize that the other idiot had him by his short hairs. Even if Malaysia wanted 10 times more money for the raw water then what we were currently paying at that time, it would have been well worth it. this is a scandal and no oppo seems to have wanted to find out at that time, and Old fart was made out to be the hero for standing up to Malaysia's "unreasonable" demands, when in actual fact, he was the big villain.

What did Malaysia want?

In 1998, They wanted financial loans from singapore to help them out during the Asian crisis. Old fart did not give them the loans but later on, gave large loans totalling $10 billion directly to Indonesia, bypassing the IMF. Immediately, this got Mahathir riled up. More and more items were added to the water negotiations resulting in an unwieldy package. For example, Singapore wanted to add the ability of the RSAF to overfly Malaysian airspace on its way to the training areas in the south china sea, while malaysia wanted to talk about developing the parcels of land they owned in malaysia and the relocation of the tanjong pagar railway station. As well, the malaysians felt that the water sales priced negotiated by the Brits before they left was too low and water to open up the contract again. mahathir also wanted the CPF board to allow western malaysians to withdraw their CPF from singapore. Also added to the package later was the replacement of the Causeway by a bridge or underground rail tunnel. All these points are reasonable.

Not allowing western malaysians to withdraw their CPF while other foreign workers can, is ridiculous and biased. this was a reasonable request on the part of the malaysians. Giving the malaysians more money for the current water contract is also fair in my opinion, provided that the water treaty was in exhange, renewed for another 100 years or something like that. But we are not privileged to what was discussed between Old fart and mahathir, however, we know the cost to us today.

I have posted in the past before how Newater and desalinization will bankrupt us. this is the first time I have seen the proof in the shit times. What kind of idiot leadership would engage in a battle of egos and cost singaporeans 5000-17500 times the price of water. This does not include the capital costs in the billions $ needed to start up the desalinization and newater plants. How much money could have been saved by the economy as a whole if we had just used or renewed the existing water agreements at that time? Now that old fart is dead, we may never know wha transpired. Thanks ah gong for screwing us over. You really were a gong kia.

http://www.straitstimes.com/opinion/how-singapore-will-never-go-thirsty

You don't know Malaysia govt is very smart? Today ten times tomorrow maybe twenty times like their minimum price quota for foreigners purchase of house from 500k to 1m. Next year 100 times? In no time will be same as desalination cost.

except for the notion that newater is highly potable, the overall strategy is brilliant. will elaborate later.

U can't drink pure NEWater as the micro filters can't filter everything. So they need to be put back into reservoirs for anything nasty to be diluted.

make sense. if newwater is so safe, what for mix with reservoirs and then retreat over again like rainwater??

can put a test la:
fish tank A with new water (10 goldfishs)
fish tank B normal water (10 goldfishes)
fish tank C , normal mix with new water

monitor for a year to see their life expectancy

the process of newwater is multi layered, its not just filtration and ultraviolet alone, there is also distillation, filtered water is boiled at boiling temperature to remove any impurities and inorganic matter, any organic matter will be removed at lower temperatures, this process can be repeated multiple times to ensure the highest grade of purity possible.chromatography and gas spectronomy will be carried out to ensure there are no particulates of fecal matter present.in nature this natural process is called rain.

there's no distillation (thus evaporation and condensation) in the newater process. it uses a series reverse osmosis as the primary filtration process.

Why don't use desalination more? Israel seems to be very successful in water desalination and helping California. Spore got consult Israel?

IDE plans more U.S. desalination plants after California success

By Ari Rabinovitch | JERUSALEM
(Reuters) - Israel's IDE Technologies, which opened this week a billion-dollar desalination plant in California, is helping to plan 10 new facilities throughout the United States, the company's chief executive said on Wednesday.

Together with U.S. partner Poseidon Water, IDE has just completed the country's largest desalination plant, located on the Pacific coast in the city of Carlsbad. It will supply much needed drinking water for 300,000 households, alleviating the area's water shortage.

Yet it may just be the first of eight more plants being planned for California, of which IDE is involved in three, said CEO Avshalom Felber. IDE's others are in Texas and Florida.

"It's the start of a solution," Felber told Reuters. "And once you have a successful plant like this, it raises our profile in the United States."

Desalination has emerged as a promising technology in the face of a record dry spell gripping California for several years, depleting its reservoirs and aquifers and raising the costs of importing water from elsewhere.

GCB is you. Israel gets 80% of domestic water from desalination, certainly superior to shit water we get.

"Some 80 percent of domestic water use in Israeli cities comes from desalinated water, according to Israeli officials"

that is because their energy is not imported like us.
in desalination, main concern is energy usage.

that's pure bs. water from natural sources has gone through billions of years of evaporation (nature's way of boiling) and condensation ever since the surface of earth cooled off and oceans were first formed. distillation by manmade means remove minerals from water which otherwise will go through the rain, streams, rivers, aquifer process which picks up ground minerals along the way, including but not limited to absorbing gases and particles from the air and environment. once water boils and condenses via manmade distillation, it is as pure as it gets, in fact purer than rain or even snow as the latter picks up impurities from the wide open sky as it falls. pure water at the point of condensation from a closed distillation system has a ph of 7. the moment the closed system is opened to air, the ph of the water drops to 6.7-6.9 depending on the acidity of the air. for potable water from distillation it is necessary to balance it with alkaline additives to bring it back up to 7.2-7.5 as it will inadvertently come into contact with air and absorbs acidic particles immediately. it's up to the drinker to add minerals if he so desires. not all naturally contributing minerals in ground water are healthy and beneficial. in fact, some are harmful. calcite deposits are minerals too, and they contribute to the hardening of water and sometimes production of precious stones in your gall or kidneys.

most impurities can be removed from a rigorous multi-stage process of reverse osmosis, including shit and urine. the exception is impurity at the molecular level - e.g. pharmaceutical residue and composites. you may be drinking small traces of drugs if you drink recycled sai chwee.

even water from springs and snow are no longer pure as the amount of pollution and harmful particles in the air is getting worse with more cuntries industrializing and developing their economies (and burning forests). the cleanest snowfalls are most likely in the antarctic and arctic as they are remote from civilization and airborne pollution typically moves along the latitudes where china and america are burning coal and teeming with automobiles. the $1.20 bottled water that you drink is one big global scam as all tom dick and harry companies in every cuntry including of all places fiji jump on the profit bandwagon and sell filtered tap water as though they are naturally collected water from springs and snow. there are exceptions, such as water from the alps as europeans are proud of their quality, but they are expensive.

Re: Water Treaty Malaysia: The tremendous financial costs imposed on S'pore by LKY's

Places like California have been in drought for years. They are now wishing they had built desalination or NeWater plants years ago.

Johor is having drought too. El Nino effect getting more severe in recent years due to climate change. Best to have our own backup plan. If we don't do desalination or NeWater, do you have any other solid ideas for us to diversify our water supplies?

yes, i'm not only well aware of that but extremely aware of the subject, and not only being aware but living and experiencing the consequences of severe drought and lack of water conservation and recycling strategies for a population of over 36 million. i have even started and dedicated a thread to the subject in the emigration folder. 4 and now 5 years of severe drought and finally politicians and leaders are compelled to do something about it, but it may be too late. that's why i'm saying the sg strategy is brilliant because lky had foreseen the importance of water independence or self-sufficiency, despite any tit for tat with malaysia (that's short term tactic in the scheme of things not a long term strategy). the right long term strategy is to harness water from all sources including recycling within your boundaries and produce your own as water is becoming a valuable mass-use resource in the world besides oil and fishing that will result in international conflicts.

california is now engaged in several projects all over the state to produce water from artificial means: desalination (of sea water) and distillation (of recycled non-sea water) for potable use; reverse osmosis, recycling, filtration and treatment of non-potable water for "grey" or industrial use. plumbing to newly built residential estates provide options now in a few bay area cities for connection to both potable water main lines and grey water main lines. it cost more for developers to run 2 lines to every new home (not the city's responsibility) from the nearest main lines junction points but they pass the cost down to homebuyers. homebuyers are now more eco-conscious and they don't mind paying. the grey water is primarily used for sprinklers. for older estates and those without the means to connect to grey lines, cities provide depots for residents and businesses to fill up their tanks.

even in california, we have conflicts between the north (bay area) and south (los angeles) in water use for decades. the north is typically and historically a natural contributor of excess water while the south a thirsty consumer and net waster of the resource. in between is the central valley with farmlands and they suck and pilfer water being pumped to the south. the water runs on an open aqueduct and wastage via evaporation is severe. in severe drought conditions los angeles and central valley farmers are asking sacramento to open the floodgates in the sacramento delta and pump water from the delta including water from diverted rivers in the north southwards. the north would refuse all the time as fishing and farming in the north also require fresh water from both ground and mountain sources. salmon fishing is especially impacted. the south would sue and get a reprieve as they have more voter-power with more political influence among state legislators in sacramento. lately, the north forbade the use of bay area delta and river water to be diverted to the south because of the exceptional drought excuse and sacramento had little choice but to abide, but the south did one thing they can outside politics: they bought out the entire sacramento delta where major rivers in the north converge. now as a "private" owner, they can do whatever they want with the water.

no matter how powerful those filters are, they can only filter out 99,99 percent of the shit.without distillation,u are probably ingesting 10mg of shit with every 8 ounce serving of newater.it should be on the nutrition label how much shit we are drinking per 100ml.
