singapore's land size has increased by 100 square kilometers?omg wow!!!!!!!even with a population of 3.5 mil a increase of land area by 100 sq km is nothing to cheer about,melbourne is 9999 square kilometers for christ sake,and australia is over 7,000,000 square kilometers. in order for melbourne to be as crowded as singapore they have to squeeze 65 million people in it,the population size of great Britain.
This is where Yahoo Singapore struggles. Ku Swee Yong is a real estate agent and his interest is selling and renting houses. Its like asking a Car Dealer if there are enough roads for more cars. No where in Ku's article does he address the the strain on the infrastructure which was not the case up till 2000. Neither does he address the numerous social issues that have have come about as a result of the population doubling. Yahoo should run a series where other experts are asked to comment about their respective areas of expertise such as a PAP politicians commenting on the need for opposition in parliament or a drug traffickers commenting about the need for the Death Penalty.
Ku Swee Yong besides his real estate interests is an advocate for population growth and with it, increased demand for housing. How objective can he be? Might as well ask a priest whether he believes in God!
The only way to rid this problem is to rid PAP from power. However, with 60% idiots around, it's difficult.
