A major Hollywood star is rumored to have been diagnosed as HIV positive.

The man - whose identity is not being revealed - also has a long list of famous former girlfriends.

'The actor’s list of exes includes an award-winning actress, a religious movie star, a top Hollywood personality with a controversial past, a TV star, a media personality and a glamour model,' reports The Sun.

They also spoke to an insider who claims: 'It has now become common knowledge that this star is HIV positive, something he has known for a number of years.'

The article follows a similar report by Radar Online last week, amid claims that the star is preparing for legal action by women who say they put them at risk.

A source tells The Sun that 'lots of people close to him have suggested he face this situation head-on and own it publicly'.

That source said the man does not want to do this, however, for fear of the disease 'becoming a defining quality of his career'.

This news comes just two months after Who's The Boss star Danny Pintauro revealed that he had been living with HIV for 12 years and had contracted the disease through oral sex due to lesions in his mouth.

Pintauro, 39, also said that he had gotten support from his former Boss costars Tony Danza and Judith Light when he told them about his health status.

Major strides have been made in the past 30 years in fighting the disease.

There is still, however, a major stigma around the disease, with many wrongly believing it infects only gay men and drug users.

NBA star Magic Johnson has worked hard to fight this falsehood since he revealed that he had contracted the disease more than 20 years ago.

Johnson, who announced his status in 1991, said at the time; 'Sometimes you're a little naïve and you think, "Only gay people can get it, it's not going to happen to me."

'And here I am saying that it can happen to anybody. Even me, Magic Johnson.'

Report says Hollywood megastar hid from partners that he is HIV positive

An extensive Radar Online expose points to Charlie Sheen in describing Hollywood megastar who hid his HIV positive status from former partners.

radaronline-suggests-actor-charlie-sheen-hiv-positive.w_l.jpg

Decades of debauchery have finally caught up with one of Hollywood’s top megastars. In a bombshell world exclusive, RadarOnline.com can reveal that a bad-boy Tinseltown star has been hiding an explosive secret from the world: He is HIV-positive.

Multiple informed sources confirm the world-famous actor, whom Radar has chosen not to identify, has been diagnosed with the deadly virus that usually leads to AIDS itself.

The middle-aged star learned at least two years ago that he had contracted HIV — but he has desperately hidden it from the world, terrified his fans will turn against him.

The individual confided this medical bombshell to friends as far back as October 2014.

Without treatment, average survival time after infection with HIV is estimated to be nine to 11 years. Thankfully, the Hollywood figure has so far been successfully treated with an “AIDS Cocktail” of high-powered drugs meant to counteract the effects of the disease, including the medications Truvada and Isentress.

“His medical outlook is positive,” divulged a source.

However, the star — known for a playboy lifestyle filled with one-night stands and sex-for-hire partners — has been “devastated” over his plight since doctors diagnosed the condition, according to a friend.

Radar has learned multiple friends want the star to publicly admit the problem and face reality with courage and determination.

It is not known exactly how the actor contracted the virus, but the star has previously admitted to engaging in tattooing, injecting drugs and having sex with prostitutes — all activities that increase the risk of contracting the virus.

The star thought he was “indestructible” and took few precautions to protect himself against AIDS — even though he was indulging in high-risk sex practices, sources said.

“He led a dangerous lifestyle,” said one pal. “He’s learned this the hardest possible way.”

Struggling with the weight of the shocking news, the entertainer was hurled into a deep despair last year, racked by stress and pain associated with the deadly condition, Radar has learned.

In lonely desperation, he went into seclusion at his home — rarely going out in public and seeing only family and friends inside the sanctuary of his mansion.

He would also party night and day in a bid “to numb” the pain.

“His worst fear is that he will be remembered not as a great actor but as someone who contracted the disease,” explained another source.

“He has been tortured by the thought that his acting genius will be forgotten.

“He was teary-eyed as he told friends that he had it, but he felt that a public admission would destroy him and his fans.”

Radar first learned about the star’s desperate battle with the disease in 2014. At the time, reps for the actor flatly denied it.

But in recent months the star’s horrifying plight has become an “open secret” again in top Hollywood ranks, with multiple sources coming forward to tell how he’d confided in them.

Radar also obtained a videotape in which one of the actor’s former partners revealed he had exposed her to the deadly virus.

Alarmingly though, some sources said he has continued to be promiscuous.

“It could well be a public health hazard,” said a source.

It was only after corroborating the accounts of multiple sources that Radar decided to publish this exposé. It also follows the brave disclosure from Who’s the Boss? alum Danny Pintauro, who revealed he is HIV-positive after mixing sex and crystal meth.

Of the latest HIV victim, a show business source told Radar: “Many of this actor’s friends and associates have been saying for weeks that he has HIV.

Nevertheless, the star and his legal team kept a firm grip of secrecy on his problems, even as rumors of his status swept Tinseltown.

According to one source, the megastar has spent an elaborate fortune to secure the silence of his sexual partners — and others — who later discovered his HIV status.

Some of those women believed he’d played “Russian roulette” with their lives, sources said.

At the same time, the star had vowed to stop sowing wild oats and settle down with his then-romantic interest.

But that relationship did not last — and neither the split nor the health predicament has deterred the tragic star from continuing romantic rendezvous.

Hollywood guessing game over lothario with HIV: Speculation mounts over identity of notorious womanising actor whose hard partying ways have caught up with him

By TOM LEONARD IN NEW YORK FOR THE DAILY MAIL

PUBLISHED: 02:05, 12 November 2015 | UPDATED: 02:29, 12 November 2015

Hollywood has been rocked by reports that a playboy actor is HIV positive and may have infected a string of glamorous women.

Among those worried they may have been passed the virus are an award- winning actress, a stunning movie star, a glamour model and a TV show favourite.

A ‘celebrity with a chequered history’ and a celebrated media personality are also said to fear they are victims.

Rumour has it: Among those worried they may have been infected with HIV are an award- winning actress, a stunning movie star, a glamour model and a TV show favourite, it has been claimed

According to reports, ‘decades of debauchery’ had ‘finally caught up with’ the womanising actor – said to be one of Tinseltown’s ‘megastars’.

But as he refuses to go public about his condition, there is feverish speculation on social media over his identity and anxiety among those who now believe they are at risk.

The showbiz website RadarOnline, which first broke the story, claimed that a ‘bad boy Tinseltown star’ had been hiding his ‘explosive secret’ having been diagnosed with the virus, which weakens the immune system and can develop into Aids.

Exactly how long he has been hiding it is unclear, but it understandably remains a critical point with the many women who have crossed his path. Clues to his identity include the fact that he is middle-aged and ‘notorious’ for a playboy lifestyle ‘filled with one-night stands and sex-for-hire partners’.

He has been ‘devastated’ since doctors diagnosed the condition at least two years ago. It is also claimed he has admitted engaging in activities that carry a risk of contracting the virus.

Hysteria worries: Campaigners are deeply alarmed by the furore over the news of the Hollywood A-lister's HIV status, which has been described as backward and a reminder of the treatment of HIV-positive in the 1980s

Yesterday, further claims were made by a newspaper that said the star’s lawyers are ‘braced’ for legal action from women he has consciously put at risk. A source told the newspaper: ‘It has now become common knowledge that this star is HIV positive, something he has known for a number of years.

‘The reality is that if he’s knowingly put women at risk then that’s disgusting, and it’s only a matter of time before that becomes public.’

The star’s friends have reportedly urged him to admit his condition publicly, claiming it could help combat the spread of HIV – which affects nearly 108,000 people in the UK – if such a high-profile, heterosexual star is identified as a sufferer. Yesterday, websites like Twitter and Facebook were teeming with amateur sleuths offering their opinions and naming names.

Many have opted for a handful of stars, all with a reputation for womanising.

HIV campaigners, who have sought for years to combat hysteria over the virus, are deeply alarmed by the furore. A spokesman for Britain’s Terrence Higgins Trust said that anyone diagnosed is ‘given treatment that reduces the amount of HIV virus to an ‘undetectable’ amount, and this means HIV cannot be passed on’.

However, that may be the case after treatment, but not before. The website RadarOnline claims the star in question told his friends in October 2013 that he was HIV positive. However, he has allegedly kept his condition secret – and even from other sexual partners – because he is terrified that his fans will turn against him, killing off his career.

The star reportedly believes he is ‘indestructible’, and took few precautions to protect himself and others, even though he was indulging in ‘high-risk’ behaviour.

The string of well known women said to have slept with the HIV positive actor aren’t the only ones fearful they have contracted the virus. The lothario is also said to have slept with a swathe of other women in Los Angeles.

It was claimed yesterday that the Hollywood A-lister has been paying a former lover $20,000 – about £13,000 – a month to suppress secret photos that reveal his condition.

A woman who is friendly with some of the actor’s girlfriends, said: ‘One girl had agreed to go on dates with the star and to sleep with him. She wasn’t a prostitute, just someone who was happy to meet him and be his girlfriend.

‘After a few dates and after sleeping together, she found the HIV medicine in a bathroom cabinet. Obviously she was shocked and angry. She had no idea he has HIV.’

The girlfriend photographed the medicine with her mobile phone and was tested for HIV. She was not infected, but threatened to publicise the photos. He has allegedly been paying $20,000 a month since then to ‘shut her up... she has been paid a lot of money’.

The source said Hollywood was a ‘small place... especially the circles that this star moves in’. Everybody is appalled at his behaviour. A lot of girls are getting tested and are worried about it.’

Though HIV is far more manageable to treat than it once was, the entertainment industry has long been uneasy about acknowledging its existence among celebrities. In 1985, Rock Hudson became the first high-profile actor to die from Aids. The 59-year-old had managed to keep it secret his entire career that he was gay.

Other HIV positive stars who died of Aids include singers Freddie Mercury and Liberace. Others, however, such as the heterosexual but highly promiscuous American basketball star ‘Magic’ Johnson have been living with HIV for decades.

According to friends of the mystery actor, ‘his worst fear is that he will be remembered not as a great actor, but as someone who contracted the disease. He has been tortured by the thought that his acting genius will be forgotten.’

I wonder if sheen can be a megastar. Yes he is quite popular. I mean he had his own roast show, his interview which actually captivated him to infamy where he mentioned he drank tiger blood but you know hollywood is just like any other industry where they have mega stars then super stars then not so super stars and it does right down to the D,E,F listers etc.

I mean someone like brad pitt, tom cruise, leonardo should be megastars while sheen would be slightly behind them but notwithstanding the fact he is in many ways a pioneer but his body of work like the movies he made don't really stand out say against leo for example who made titanic and that made more than a billion and made him an A list star. What work has sheen done that makes him a megastar?

No worries, the cure for HIV is very close. If he is a mega star in Hollywood, money will not be a problem for him for the clinic trial.

Functional HIV Cure Step Closer To Reality With FDA Approval Of Clinical Human Trials

A possible “functional cure” for HIV has recently been granted FDA approval for further human testing. The method uses genetic modification to cause a specific mutation in the white blood cells of HIV patients which mirrors those found in the naturally immune. It has so far shown to be both receptive and long-lasting.

The novel therapy involves taking stem cells from HIV-infected patients and using a gene editing tool to cause them to form into white blood cells with a specific mutation. The mutation affects a protein known as CCR5, and interferes with the virus’s ability to latch onto blood cells. The mutation occurs naturally in a small percentage of the world’s population and gives these individuals a life-long resistance to HIV infections. Although the virus may remain in their body, without being able to enter the T cells, it cannot replicate and therefore will stay at low numbers, uncompromising the immune system.

In theory, when these genetically edited stem cells are reintroduced into HIV patients they will repopulate the body with cells possessing the same mutation. This would give the patients the same lifetime resistance to the virus’s harm with just one procedure. The method was developed by Sangamo BioSciences Inc., but has also been tested in early human clinical trials by drug research company Calimmune, San Francisco Business Times reported.

According to IFL Science, in a small trial consisting of only 12 patients the procedure was found to be tolerable and have a low risk of adverse side effects. The genetically modified cells lasted up to four years inside the patients. Unfortunately, the trial was not large enough to test the effectiveness of the procedure, but the current FDA approval will allow the testing to be extended to treat more HIV patients. The FDA has also approved the start of a new Phase I safety study, which would consist of a multi-year, three-stage process of human trials to test a similar approach using a different method of disabling the CCR5 protein.

As reported by the SF Business Times, the trials will be conducted at the City of Hope medical center in California and is being funded by CIRM, the state’s stem cell research funding agency. It will be run by researchers from Sangamo BioSciences Inc. and the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. They will include people with HIV/AIDS who have had poor responses to standard therapies.

“This kind of work is too important to just try one method at a time and sit back and wait to see if it is effective,” explained Dr. Jonathan Thomas, chair of the CIRM governing board, Imperial Valley News reported. “We have a mission to find treatments for patients in need. By trying several different approaches, taking several shots at goal at the same time if you like, we feel we have a better chance of being successful.”

The procedure hopes to replicate what occurred in the Berlin Patient, the only person to ever be “cured” of HIV. If proven to be as effective in the trials as it is on paper, the procedure may become the world’s first “functional cure” for HIV and AIDS.
