I just read this:
[ The 6 Div held a Change of Command Parade at Mandai Hill Camp this evening. COL Wong Yu Han handed over command to COL Chua Boon Keat. ]
From a speech by the Honourable Mr. Ng Eng Hen, Minister of Defence:
"The current and previous National Contingent Commanders of our troops in Afghanistan are both SAF Overseas Scholars. COL Chia Choon Hoong, who was a 1991 SAFOS recipient and currently Commander 9th Division, handed over command of our forces in Afghanistan this past June to COL Wong Yu Han, also a 1991 SAFOS recipient."
It looks like Chia Choon Hoong and Wong Yu Han were from the same batch, but WYH retired from the SAF as a Colonel, whereas CCH was a BG.
Is there more information pertaining to these two SAFOS?
