Lioness 'sort of lunged at the car'

A female tourist has been killed in a lion attack at a game park in South Africa.

The lioness jumped through the open window of a car and mauled the woman thought to be from the US.

The park's rules forbid visitors from driving through the lion enclosure with their windows down.

Assistant park manager Scott Simpson said: "The lion then sort of lunged at the car and it bit the lady through the window."

my colleague was there last year with his family, and they were warned not to let their windows and guard down although predators might look lazy and relaxed lying on dirt under the sun. even a little crack on the window to vent the vehicle could be an opportunity for predators with claws to pull the door apart.
