Man who tried to rob cabby of $10 arrested within 15 hours

SINGAPORE - A 39-year-old man was arrested by the police within 15 hours for robbing a taxi driver of $10.
On Jun 26, 2014, at around 9.45pm, a taxi driver, 34, reported that his money was taken by an unknown male passenger.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man had boarded the taxi at West Coast Road.
Before exiting the cab at his destination at Yung Sheng Road, the man robbed the taxi driver of $10 which was in his shirt pocket.
Officers from the Jurong Police Division conducted intensive investigations and identified the man. On Jun 27, the 39-year-old was arrested at Clementi Avenue 5 at around 12pm.
If convicted, he will face a jail term up to 14 years and not less than 12 strokes of the cane.
