  • Former President Mohamed Waheed: He will be lecturing at the national university of Singapore for about a week every month.

Former President Mohamed Waheed has accepted visiting distinguished fellow position with Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore.
Waheed told Haveeru on Sunday that he would be lecturing at the national university of Singapore for about a week every month. He said that he would be working at the university for at least a year.

Waheed, then vice president, came to power in February 2012 after President Mohamed Nasheed resigned amid a police mutiny and weeks of anti-government protests. He remained in power until the election of President Abdulla Yameen in last November.

By the way, 'teaching' in tertiary institutions is nothing like teaching in MOE schools.

Those professors in academia are only interested in their own research and in publishing papers. Teaching undergrads is a side distraction. They don't really care if you fail.

And for those visiting fellows, they come once in a while, or only for a short duration, to talk cock in a lecture theatre. They're worth as much as honorary degrees. :rolleyes:
