If this time round, Japan repeats its WW2 invasion of Singapore, are we going to fall so easily and let the Japanese bastards rape our women and bayonet our men?

Will we again be fooled by the cowardice of Thailand and Malaysia to allow the Japanese easy access from the North to go through their countries to attack us from the North?

Or history will repeat itself again and we never learn anything from WW2 at all?

The Nips will not attack us again. They learnt their lesson well after experiencing the two nukes sent to them by the Yanks and have vowed never to be warlike again. Apart from a handful of ultra right-wingers, they are now a peaceful country that is more focused on commerce, industry, and a good life.

From WW2, we learnt that we should never depend on someone else to defend us.

If the Americans had been smart and poured post-war aid into China instead of Japan, it would have total control of Asia now and put a stop to the cold war with USSR a fucking long time ago.

Instead, it now has Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.......which cannot compete with China, but instead need China more than China needs them.

Dumb Americans, as usual.....LOL!!

The fact that its PM still says it is a noble war and even entertain to visit the fucking shinto shrine, is reason to believe that the right-wing is very much alive and kicking and building the carrier disguised as a destroyer shows clearly Japan is still very much a war-like country that is intent on invasion instead of living peacefully.

At that time (end ww2), China was undergoing a civil war, I think the Yankees were siding with the Nationalists (Chiang Kai-Shek) and communists were their enemies (somehow, communism is a bad word to the Yanks). Anyways, it is not easy for anyone to "rule" China, she is such a big and populous country.

Everyone can see that Singapore's military hardware is very advanced, but Peesai is small and is still no match for bigger countries, and besides, her people are not of "warrior" mettle. Japan is capable of high tech military weapons because she is an advanced and high-tech country. But her forces are for self-defense. With a powerful neighbour that is growing in might, she needs to keep up in the arms race. Depending on US will not be wise for Nippon. In any case, I'd rather a have a strong Japan than a weak one. Their current direction is not one of military conquest, their own peoples will not support an expansionist policy.

I believe the real threat to world peace now is no longer Imperialism but Fundamentalism. In 25 years, indon and mudlaysia will want to "reclaim" singapore, south phillipines and brunei to form a muslim super state and keep a monopoly on resources.

If the Americans were siding Chiang Kai-Sek, China would not have fallen to communism.....it was historically on hindsight that we know Americans were siding Japan and pouring aid towards it instead of China.

If the Americans had been smart and supported China by making Japan a province of China back then, America would have won itself the strongest ally in Asia.

Japanese are ungrateful barbaric bastards....Americans are dumb, that's why until now, their foreign policies always fail big time.

Americans might be considered dumb to some, but MacDonald's, Coca-Cola, Marlboro, Levi's and Elvis Presley sell much better than anyone else in their fields all over the world, on soil outside the US (don't even try to sell them in their own land, the only ones who've done that successfully are the Japs). Foreign policies won't work for long when the home locals start claiming what's theirs, even when those policies are from the world biggest power.

This is an impossible scenario. Since ancient times, the powerhouses in SEA have been Siam and Burma. Malaysia and Indonesia will always play second fiddle to Siam and Burma. It's in the genes of the Malays. They'll never be a powerhouse. Nothing to do with the Muslim religion. It's the genes.
