Come Jan 2013, Singaporeans will be faced with a new social eyesore, I am talking about a massive huge outflow of maid every Sunday when our MOM and Speaker Halimah granted the weekly off-days for maids. These available outflow of maids in the thousands is just to good news for Bangla /Indian guys. This issue of ‘a basic right’ off-day for maid will create more problems than solving a rest day issue.
This an old issue most Singaporeans are not aware off or prefer to look the other way or not thinking much about it. This it the dark side of every Sunday happening which needs to be exposed.
Every Sunday there will be an euphoria of feeding frenzy, like sharks hovering for sardines or like wholves on a flock of sheep at City Plaza, Lucky Plaza etc. These places have become like a mini-Batam or a flesh market for Bangla/Indian buayas. Just check-out our City Plaza park, Botanical Gdns and Sentosa too.
These Bangla/Indian guys are predators looking for easy prey and just following their carnal instincts. Every maid is fair game to these amorous guys, and these naïve country bumpkin maids is easy meat for them. Our maids is becoming easy fodder for these guys to sow their seed of malicious intent and mischief. Maids frequently relate stories of how these Bangla men tail them , and once they home in set their target never gives up. This is a form of sexual public harassment.
Maids are fixed with dialogue like ‘I know a lot of police friends’, ‘this also Indian country, Indian President’, ‘I also Muslim’ jibes.
These Bangla/ Indian sex fiends come from countries where women are not respected and subservient to men. Sexual abuse and violence against women are rampant, girls are sold as human trafficking, thousands of young girls are disappearing, abducted every year, even parents sold of their daughters. Married women are expected to bear baby boys, female fetuses are aborted, even multiple times. Female infanticide are done in the millions, socially women have no rights at all.
Unlike other foreign workers in Spore, only Bangla/Indian men they like to prey on maids. The lonely maids have become an obsession, free fodder, easy meat to satisfy their libido. It's becoming too rampant and its becoming pandemic proportions.
The potential for misbehavior is massive, I look with concern at the unacceptable events happening every Sunday. We watch Bangla/Indian men tugging along maids, occupying our parks and beaches, groping and hugging oblivious to onlookers. They are becoming bolder, smooching, caressing in public MRT and buses in total disregard of our social norms and ethics.
Its very disturbing to see them frolicking , sensuous, behaving intimate in public.
At the East Coast Park every Sunday Banglas and maids pitch tents as their love nests for their immoral activities, more so when it rains.
The parks and beaches are a public recreational area and mostly for family outings. We look towards Sunday being a leisurely day, but are faced with this disgusting sight. The embarrassing sight no doubt leaves an inedible mark on the family and our children. A family friend swear that he will never again visit Sentosa on Sunday, and most Spore families avoid going to such parks public places again. No sensible minded Singaporean will approve of such obnoxious behavior.
Its becoming too common an unsightly on weekends, loath by Sporeans. Sunday is no more a Sporean leisurely day, besides being an eyesore they are squeezing Sporean of recreational space.
Most of these country girls, have never seen a foreigner before, let alone a smooth talking Bangla. These lonely innocent rural bumpkin, ever smiling , pleasing, obliging maids are too easy picking for sex starved Bangla/ Indian men. These maids are someone's daughter, mum or a wife in their country.
While it takes two to tango, these maids being away from their country, from their parents or husband preying eyes, lets their hair down while working in Singapore.
It just takes time when the maid will succumb to coaxing and when hooked, the wolves desires are fulfilled and weekly servicing, f.o.c. Some affairs lasted for years, its also quite common for a Bangla/Indian to have multiple maids.
The maids sinister liaisons don't just end on the weekend, there are numerous cases where the maids invite their Bangla lovers to their employers home, and satisfy their lust on the bosses bed A women employer recently tells me of her distaste and anger, she threw out the whole bed set and get a new one. This is trespassing. In this cases maid agencies must inform the police, the law must apprehend them.
As we know many of the girls under declare their age to work here. On weekends they look more like giggling school kids than working maids. So here theres a potential for Banglas having sex with underaged girls. Another crime overlooked.
As we know hundreds of maids are pregnant every year, as always the girls get used and abandon. When things goes wrong its is easy for the Bangla/Indian guy to vanish off, the phone calls goes cold, The maid does not know where the guys lives, it must be in a dormitory somewhere with thousands other workers with no room number.
I have seen these guys tugging pulling forcefully on these helpless maids, they just froze, offers no resistance, blank stare out of fear or surrender. I believe sometimes when maids are reluctant force are used. When molest and rapes do happen, most maids are too scared to report , whatever happens these girls will never ever report to the authorities or police let alone inform their employers.
Sexual offences goes unreported.The maids do not how to complain and address their problems, They are easily exploited. Some contracted diseases, some experienced trauma after unpleasant experiences, In the end ultimately many will be abandoned with self worth dented, by empty hopes and broken promises. These naive lasses are unaware of the potential pitfalls and dangers awaiting from these predators, of heartbreaks , false promises, being victims of sexual abuses , unwanted pregnancies, loss of income, deported by employers, without any avenues of addressing their woes and predicament
I read with despair our fellow Singaporean, are fined, jailed and caned for various degrees, even slightest, of ‘sex related crimes’. Prominent individuals are shamed, we are subjected to all kinds of rules and restrictions. Even employers get fined even jailed for abusing their maid.
Yet these sex crimes by our guest workers goes unpunished, scoot free....in Singapore.
But these foreigners get it free and easy according to their whims and fancies. These Bangla/Indian sex fiends escaped conviction in their countries and in Singapore they escape the eye of the law too.
This is a social problem that needs to be addressed by the authorities. If nothing is done, then this will continue to happen indefinitely, and more innocent maids will fall victims indefinitely.
When MOM or MCYS granted maids their weekly-off they are aware and only look at one aspect of the maid story and totally unaware if these pitfalls. Its is irresponsible on the authorities side not to have rules that safeguard and curtail any social misdeed of these foreign workers.
There must be guidelines about spending their off days, rules and regulations not to abuse and misbehave. There's no free will of how they spend their off days, they must behave responsible. They are here to work, they got a job and now a weekly off day. They can't have it all here, not in Singapore.
If the govt managed to clean our Geylang areas of China woman and save Spore families, then monitoring and controlling these indecent behavior will be not much of a problem.
The maids must be aware not to offer their bodies for a packet of rice, hand phone top-up or less. They come here to work for a decent income, not be companions to guys on weekends, not sex slaves or ‘comfort women’ for Bangla /Indian workers.
For Bangla/Indian buayas their Sunday free rides must be stopped, come 2013 their maid hunting days must be stopped. They must realize that they are working in Spore as guest workers. Do not abuse our hospitality, respect our social norms, ethics and culture. Off day is not a license for them to go hanky lanky The message is simple and straight forward, you work here you must behave, not to cause uneasiness and problems to others, shape out or ship out.
My suggestion, I hope National Parks authority will keep track of these park users, not for sinister activities and to behave within our social norms.
The park authority must record not only the applicants name but also whoever will be in the campsite tent.
All tents must not be fully covered and they must not use it to as a place to make love.
The authorities, Police or MCYS must check-out record anglas/Indians and maids booking into cheap hourly rates hotels
Banglas and maids caught in uncompromising positions or close liaisons, the work permit will not be renewed, unless appealed by employer.
Bangla/Indian drivers must not use their vans, on Sundays for making love. ( recently I saw a van with mattress, maids in East Coast Park)
Maids and their boyfriends caught in their employers home will be fined, deported and banned from entering Singapore. (Maid agencies must inform the police of these incidents)
Bangla/Indian men who are responsible for any any pregnancies will be fined and made to pay for all costs.
No partying, partime work or consuming alcohol.
The lawmakers must also proposed a “decency” law to ban ‘flirtatious behavior and indecent behavior’ in public.
There must be a ‘good behaviour’ grading among our foreign workers.
With this new ruling it definitely will give employers a deserving peace of mind and a sigh of relief. The employers as a guardian, the maid, work permit holder is and always will be under the custody of the employer. So there's no legal right for these buayas to prey on, use and abused these maids. The employer, being bonded, got the right to know what, where she’s going, who she spent time with. Its should be like a family, mum and daughter relations of care and concern.
For Singaporeans, how long do we have to turn our eyes away?
how long more do we have to bear their frolicking antics?
Our passive attitude and MYOB (mind your own business) towards this behavior have make them more daring and disrespectful towards Sporeans. Hopefully this will changed.
For ordinary decent minded Singaporeans, hopefully, it’s a leisurely Sunday reclaimed, and seeing our guests behaving as we do.
