A man whose motorcycle hit a cop at a police roadblock was fined a total of $2,300 and banned from driving for 12 months on Friday on two charges.
Muhammad Izwandi Zainor, 22, admitted to causing hurt to Sergeant Nazir Jaffar, 22, by doing an act so rashly as to endanger the personal safety of others as well as riding when his licence had been revoked.
A district court heard that the victim was holding out an extended flashlight which was blinking towards a group of approaching motorcyclists along Guillemard Road on Sept 10, 2010.
Izwandi only started slowing down very late and hit the victim's flashlight before stopping.
