At a Singapore Conversation event last night (31 Jan) even grassroots leaders were criticising the Population White Paper released by NPTD on Tue (29 Jan),

Yesterday’s event, organized by PA, was attended by about 100 grassroots leaders.

Serangoon Citizens Consultative Committee vice-chairman, Poon Mun Wai, said, “I’m very disappointed with this 6.9 million figure. It’s logically and emotionally not acceptable.”

Another grassroots leaders asked if the government is “really listening” to Singaporeans. She was opposed to letting in more foreigners into Singapore.

Singapore should go the way of Monaco. They should shrink the population by allowing the old and the useless to die off.

Monaco's Per Capital GDP is almost 3 times higher than Singapore's. The only reason why it isn't listed as such is because it is a Principality.

Once the losers die natural deaths, the Millionaires and the elite can then enjoy life to the fullest without being surrounded by troublesome peasant scum losers who do nothing but complain about everything.

Simple.... turn Khaw's ideas of rest homes in neighboring countries into reality and subcontract the job of looking after the poor to places where overheads are a lot lower.

It will be a simple case of "out of sight out of mind". If you don't see a bunch of sick, elderly old sods cluttering up the park benches and the shopping centres, there'll no longer be any political pressure on the government to introduce more welfare for the old farts.

we had long been a welfare state for papees n cronies where they first claim that
they should be paid XXX amount of $$$ if not, they would be better off in private sector or in biz themselves.

By "default", since we do not have enough opposition to veto all these "claims", these leeches at the first split second
when they are elected or "elected" thru walkovers, commit FUNDAMENTAL BREACH of what they claim.

They hold tonnes of appointments, directorships and/or in biz themselves.

Having more than one appointment does not give one more than 24hrs per calendar day...

Question remains: WHO did they neglect?

Shareholders of public listed companies?

(Public) Stakeholders of GLC or statutory boards?
