SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 35-year-old man believed to be responsible for a series of thefts from vehicles committed in the Bukit Batok public housing estate.

Since last November, cases of theft from vehicles were reported at the public housing estate open carparks in the Bukit Batok area.

In the evening on Jan 8, police responded to a message that a vehicle had been broken into the man who is believed to have committed the theft at the carpark of Bukit Batok Street 31 was seen fleeing.

Police officers arrived at the scene and spotted a man fitting the description provided. The suspect was subsequently arrested and will be charged in court on Jan 10.
