Suspect arrested for breaking into private house

SINGAPORE: A 28-year-old man has been arrested for breaking into a private house in the West Coast area.
Police said they received a report on 27 October at about 9.20am that a house located in the vicinity of West Coast Road was broken into.
Items stolen included cash of about S$160 and other valuables amounting to about S$800.
Officers from Clementi Police Division conducted extensive investigations to establish the identity of the suspect.
He was arrested on 29 October at about 1.30pm in the vicinity of Tuas Road.
A mobile phone, digital camera and several pieces of jewellery were seized from his possession.
The suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday for the offence of housebreaking and theft by night.
If convicted, he faces a maximum jail term of 14 years.
