Businessman Leong Kian Sheong, 37, may have been killed over links to underworld activities

Police have not ruled out the possibility that the victim, Leong Kian Sheong, 37, who was believed to be involved in illegal bookmaking and gaming, may have been murdered in a turf war.

Leong, and a 19-year-old part-time model and college student Vivien Wong, were found dead with multiple slash and stab wounds at his gated community home in Taman Segar Perdana here last Thursday.

The murders occurred a week after his business associate, Won Sin Keong, 42, was also found murdered along Jalan Mahkota 1, in Bangi.

Police sources disclosed that they were probing into Leong's background, especially his personal life and businesses. It was learnt that Leong also had at least 10 tyre shops in his name in the Klang Valley.

Leong, from Kuantan, Pahang, had two young children with his first wife. He was in the midst of divorcing his second wife when he was murdered.

His two luxury vehicles, a BMW and a Toyota Vellfire, were also missing in the incident. Police believe that the case was more than just robbery based on initial investigations.

Leong and Wong were believed to have been attacked by more than two people some 16 hours before their bodies were found.

Both victims were repeatedly slashed. Wong also had her throat slit. Both were also believed to have put up a fierce fight based on bloodstains on the walls. One hour prior to the double murder, Wong had tweeted: "6 o'clock alright ... dead tomorrow u".

Police said they were working on several leads. They have interviewed Leong's driver and bodyguard and Wong's close friend. They will be recording statements from Leong's former wife, business partners and family members.
