Malaysian condos are largely similar to Singapore's mass market ones. All very rectangular/"blockish" in design and of regular patterns. In fact, some of the recent launches in Singapore are just too plain. I even mistook one condo project for HDB flats!

The apartments in Australia and other overseas ones look classy and nice. Glass design with unique architectural thought put into it. They are not necessarily the expensive or high end ones. Wonder why we can't have such designs in SG or Johor.

Actually, for residential buildings, squarish interior are easiest to build-in furniture and layout the interior.
Development like The Reflection in Keppel area may be award winning in the exterior design but the interior actually sucks.
Because of the curving exterior, in certain floors, the huge column can be part of a room.
If you move around SG, you can see many residential buildings in SG, whether HDB or private condos build in recent years are actually quite unique and aesthetically pleasant, comparable to world standard.

I would hazard a guess that a lot the condos in Johor are built by roughly the same group of contractors. So that's probably why the interior build quality and the materials and even the designs looks pretty similar.
Not very inspiring. After a while all start to look alike.
But at least the China developers might be able to inject some difference

The Chinese developers are actually providing their own Chinese layout design for those JB apartments.
The proximity of building blocks are similar to those in HongKong, all tower blocks packed into a small area, extremely high plot ratio for JB.
Things like tropical solution for laundry yard is mostly not provided as they expect tenants to use washing and drying machine, like in China.

Actually, even among different developers, their condo projects are also squeezed into a small plot.

Look at this picture of condos in Medini. There are at least 5 different projects here by 4 developers. They are all so close to one another. Very claustrophobic feeling.

There is so much land there. Dunno why they got to squeeze so tightly.

Outside looks nice. But within the unit, quite cookie cutter type. Same as most other developments. Tiles used are similar as are the toilet finishings.

Ya. I noticed that too. Homogenous tiles for living rooms. Wood laminates for bedrooms. Standard. Toilets same tiles also. Still charged RM800 psf!!

Maybe they want to keep the kampong spirit alive?:p

2. Show gallery will close in the few more weeks and move to Sky 88 Tower B/C.

3. Tower B left about 10+ units. Price about the same compared to the last time I checked in Sep 2016. Tower C a lot of units available; developer selling at above RM1000 psf.

Went down to their new sales gallery in tower C. Got to see some of the surroundings, everything looks amazing, def on par with some mid range SG condos. Only complaint is the parking lot a little too small for larger cars, can see this being quite irritating on a daily basis.

The road around SKY88 already nicely done up.

Expect to collect key late April 2017.

I went to see one of the 3bedder in tower C (SG view), wah super nice! with the full height windows and beige marble flooring, the whole place feels very high end. They didn't allow me to take photos so can't post here. Overall i'm quite impressed. What would have been killer is if they made the units 10% larger.

It is nice to live on high floors with bird's eye view of the city and beyond.
But later when the higher floors tenants move in they, may immediately realized that they can hardly make or receive calls from their mobile phone or surf the net.

Can see that the interior fitting is quite similar to other developments except perhaps the China ones.
Think maybe they all use the same builder.
Everything down to the tiles is similar except maybe some slight modification.
