SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 24-year-old woman for her suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
At about 5.20pm on Wednesday, police mounted an operation at a hotel in Geylang.
They were following up on their investigations after receiving reports of harassment by loansharks.
Police said preliminary investigations show the woman is behind harassment cases in Bukit Panjang.
They had received reports of loansharks padlocking and splashing paint on the gates of debtors' residences and scrawling loanshark-related graffiti on the walls.
When the police arrested the suspect, they found in her possession, cans of paint, markers, padlocks, chains, a pair of gloves and papers containing suspected debtors' records.
The suspect will be charged in court on Thursday.
