19 Mercy Relief volunteers honoured for disaster—relief in Myanmar, Yemen

SINGAPORE: Nineteen Mercy Relief volunteers who travelled to cyclone—hit Myanmar and flood—stricken Yemen to help victims and survivors were honoured in a special ceremony on Saturday.

Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong presented the volunteers with certificates of honour.

The volunteers include Member of Parliament, Dr Fatimah Lateef and Asian Idol, Hady Mirza.

The event was held in conjunction with International Volunteers’ Day. — CNA/vm
