The United States says human error caused a recent fatal crash of an MV-22 Osprey. The US military plans
to deploy the transport aircraft in Japan's southernmost prefecture of Okinawa.

The US completed its investigation into the crash of an MV-22 Osprey in Morocco during a drill in April. Two
US soldiers were killed in the accident.

Japan's Senior Vice Defense Minister Shu Watanabe asked US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Saturday,
to inform Japan of the investigation results. The two officials met on the sidelines of a defense conference in
Singapore.

The US Marine Corps plans to start deploying MV-22 Ospreys at its Futenma Air Station in Okinawa in late July.

However, the plan is facing strong opposition in the prefecture, especially after the accident. Watanabe told
reporters he believes that there is no problem with the Osprey aircraft.
