The latest trailer for The Bourne Legacy trailer has been released, depicting Rachel Weisz and Jeremy Renner on the run
and giving a glimpse of key plot details from the forthcoming film.

The fourth film in the Bourne movie franchise does not feature titular character Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) but it seems the
character's shadow hangs over the film, with someone saying during the opening minutes of the trailer: 'Jason Bourne was the
tip of the iceberg'.

The latest promo makes numerous references to Bourne and the mysterious Treadstone project, with one character asking:
'Do you think that Jason Bourne was the whole story? There's a lot more going on here.'

Matt Damon even makes a cameo appearance in the trailer, with his image featured in a news item reporting that the FBI are
investigating links between Treadstone and Jason Bourne.

Avengers actor Jeremy Renner stars in the film as Aaron Cross, another assassin whose behaviour appears to have been
modified as part of the top-secret CIA project.

The events of The Bourne Ultimatum have led to the decision to shut down Treadstone's successor, Operation Outcome, but
members of the Outcome programme are in danger.

Cross goes on the run with a doctor who helped create the agents, Stephanie Snyder (Rachel Weisz), with the pair attempting
to avoid assassination by CIA agent Byer, played by Edward Norton.

The trailer teases action scenes galore, with Weisz and Renner seen hurtling along busy streets on a motorbike as they attempt
to evade the authorities.

The film is scheduled for release on August 3.
