“Producing the NCMP ballot paper on stage, Mr Low said all the members of the losing East Coast GRC's team members were considered for the post, regardless of their personal inclination.

The decision lay solely with the party's Central Executive Committee (CEC), said Mr Low.”

Finally, Low Thia Khiang confesses, after much cross-examination, that the decision to send Gerald Giam, and not Png Eng Huat as NCMP, is solely decided by the Party CEC, regardless of Png Eng Huat’s ‘personal inclination’.

Png Eng Huat tries to pretend that he is more principled and honourable than his spineless WP comrades who had bowed down to be conferred with NCMP. But, Low Thia Khiang has double-confirmed that Png is deemed unqualified, unworthy than Gerald Giam (WP Pet Boy of the Year) and ‘Lao Cheow’ Eric Tan by CEC to be NCMP. He received a pathetic, miserable 1 vote.

Anyway, Teo Chee Hean spoke the truth and was proven correct once again.

BTW, there were 13 votes in total. If Gerald received only 7 votes and Png only 1 vote, the next best person is therefore not Png.

They were voting for the person to take the NCMP then. You mean they should just look at who got the 2nd highest vote then to name him as this By-Election candidate?

You cannot be serious right? There are two separate matters and the consideration factors are certainly different. If Eric Teo had not been so petty and left, he might be the one contesting.

WP obviously feels that Gerald Giam, Low Thia Khiang's favourite Pet Boy, a much better debater and performer in Parliament to speak up on national issues than Png Eng Huat

But judging on Giam's disappointing non-performance and constant deer-in-the-headlight-look, one can imagine what kind of embarassment Png, who was deemed worse than Giam by WP bigwigs, would give if he ever gets to the Parliament.

But, at least, it would take the pressure off from Giam, as PAP would always turn their guns on WP's weakest link.

Giam is still young. Exposing him as a NCMP might be better than just having him thrown straight into the parliament as an MP. No matter how badly he performed so far, he is still head and shoulder above TPL.

He's Low Thia Khiang favourite Pet Boy of the Year...If not, how can he, a spring chicken who had just joined the Party for less than 2 years, was able to win more votes than a 'Lao Cheow' Eric Tan who was the leader of WP East Coast Ali Baba Team.

Png Eng Huat was obviously deemed less qualified by WP leaders than both Eric Tan the quitter, and Gerald Giam the deer-in-the-headlight.

What truth did TCH utter? That GG is best for Hougang? What was reviewed was that GG was the best (or most acceptable) man for the NCMP post and Png the best for Hougang. Nothing wrong with that.
